From Eve to Mary: God's Design for Creation and Redemption

In Genesis 2:23, Adam declares, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh." This statement about Eve forms the foundation for Ephesians 5:28, where Paul writes, "Husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself."

This unity between man and woman reflects God's intentional design for creation and redemption. From Adam and Eve to Jesus and Mary, we see a divine narrative of love, purpose, and salvation.

Key insights:

When Adam stood silent in Genesis 3, he abdicated his God-given authority. He was present but not engaged, leaving his wife vulnerable.

Men: Don't be a silent leader. Step up and take responsibility.

This restores God's divine order in the home.

God's Just-Right Woman: Divine Design of Adam’s Helpmeet.

Part 2 of “God's Just-Right Woman” restores the right perspective of the woman in view of her creative purpose that only God could give her. A woman’s identity is rooted in God’s original design, not human comparisons. She is distinct from all other creatures, with equal value to the man. Both are the handiwork of God.

God uniquely created woman as a helpmeet for the man. Their unity is reaffirmed in Adam’s declaration: “Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh.”  She was suitable not only for the man but also for what God was doing in the whole planet. The unmatched worth God places on her creation from Adam’s side has spiritual parallels to the new birth.

God is the absolute source of all life in Himself. He doesn't need anybody else to bring anything into existence. He is the Creator and the uncreated. He is the One who already existed so He's greater than creation itself.

God's Just-Right Woman.

You are ordained to be godly. Negative behavior is not the real you. You were created by God in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). God sent the Holy Ghost to make you conscious of the fact that you're cultivating spirituality, not negativity.

Looking at the Scriptures where it all began, Genesis 2 and 3, triggers our thinking about what God said about the woman, what Adam said about the woman, and then the woman talking.

Over in the New Testament is another woman whose name is Mary. This week I want to talk about the distinction between these two women in the Bible, because there's something uniquely different about each of them, even though both were created by God with assignments and responsibilities.

There should be something amazing to a man about the woman that God made for him because God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him” (Genesis 2:18 NLT). Many men miss that. They don't see their woman as just right for them, but the Creator himself said it.

I say to women, you're a just-right woman, created by God. You can make your man better, and you can make the whole world better by the fact that God brought you into it.

To men and women I say, let the Word transform how you see yourself and the "just-right" people God has placed in your life!
