Unfortunately my daughter and I were re exposed to mold in a water damaged home recently. If you are mold sensitive and have MCAS like I do, this is a disaster! I didn’t realize it until the 5th day even though I had exacerbated symptoms since day 

In this episode, learn how to remediate clothing and unfortunately toss out any item over 1.5 inches thick (thus included pillows, blankets, sweaters, bean bag bed) as they cannot be saved. The contamination can not be removed from items that have been exposed to mold spores! Find out how to properly clean clothing so it doesn’t keep you reacting and feeling horrible. 

Items used: Ec3, white vinegar, Borax, Thieves oil, non toxic detergent (get all on Amazon.com)

Also, you'll need to wipe down all hard surface items (art, tables, cosmetics) with Lysol, or alcohol. Additionally, because the items were in my car, I had it professionally washed, and then I first wiped the interior with hydrogen peroxide and then second with white vinegar! It’s a painful, expensive lesson and yet one that many of us will experience several times in our healing journey.

I've found in the last week or so, that many people I know are in a cycle of being uber busy, productive, and scheduled due to an overwhelming pressure to perform at their work or as an entrepreneur. Their wellness is sacrificed, symptoms are ignored as they try to keep up with the demands of living in an area that is affluent. They don't see their kids, friends, spend time doing things that fill them up like exercise or rest or meditation or massage, and as a result, they feel burnt out, harried, tired, and slowly watching wellness go down the drain. I'm here to motivate you to make time for wellness every single day. No one will do it for you. You must do it for yourself. It's an investment worth making, because as you feel more energized, connected, and well - your career and relationships get better. 

I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying its necessary. 

It requires making wellness a top priority and creating boundaries around it. 

As I typically say, it's not a "nice to have" it's a "need to have". 

Wellness is Wealth!

About 10 years ago @ 39, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. Yes, you read that right - I was 39 years old. Not 50, which is when they start screening people for colon cancer. I had no genetic history, no one in my family or even extended family, had this sort of cancer diagnosis. It was a fluke. I was unlucky. This culminated in a year of treatment in 2012, involving radiation, chemo, and surgery. This left my immune system weakened, although I survived. And although this was a horrible year (I don't believe in sugar coating), it also carved within me a deep empathy, an ability to put down boundaries, to be more selective with what I allowed in my life, to become more self aware, and more compassionate towards others. I also learned how to stay put and persevere, when all I wanted to do was escape. Cancer won't allow that! 

Listen in as I share this personal story that changed the way I see life, and ultimately the course of it.

This episode is all about friendship, community and belonging. This is paramount to wellness for all of us. Human beings are social. The social fabric we create around us is integral to our sense of wellness, or lack thereof. Although I've always been a big fan of friendship, and have had the good luck to cultivate many in my life so far, I realize that not everyone prioritizes community as a source of wellness or even understands how quality matters. You might think you have a lot of "friends" but truly, they are only a few that are there for it all. The good, the hard, the joys, the devastations, the adventures, the challenges, the honesty and who love you for you. Not what you can do for them, but for who they are.

The more I travel the challenges I’ve been given, the more I understand the power of choice and flexibility. 

When it feels like nothing is within our control (very little is) we do still have some power when it comes to choosing our response, feeling our emotions, and deciding on what’s next. There is always a choice even when there seems like we are boxed into a corner.
