  • #33 From Addiction & Crime to Connection & Purpose
    My guest Dean Lloyd share his personal story that leads him to heroin addiction, crime, prison time, recovery and healing.

    Dean grew up as an Athletic middle-class white boy who got himself mixed up in drugs. Marries a woman he meets in rehab, proposes to her on the back of an escort van after being sentenced to 4 years in prison for armed robbery. Gets out, gets married has a kid, gets divorced, becomes a single dad, which is the catalyst to get his life back on track. He builds a property portfolio, remarries, has 2 more kids, relapses and loses it all again. He is now been clean for some years, still happily married and on his way back up, running two businesses - Encapsulator - digital time capsules and Lloyd Consulting.

    In this episode, we chat about the lessons from prison, the benefits of reflection, support, self-responsibility, connection to self, the impact of unconditional love and so much more.

    I like to keep the episodes under an hour but I was so engrossed in Dean's story that I wanted to talk for hours.

  • EP 32 Tania Doko - Bachelor Girl
    In this delightful conversation, I chat with I have a very special guest, a well-known name in the music industry and an overall gem of a woman - Tania Doko, or perhaps more known as The Bachelor Girl.

    We talked about her journey and success in the music industry, the power and impact of music, the importance of presence and connection, the importance of support and collaboration as well as touching on the motherhood juggle.

    As one half of ARIA award-winning, Bachelor Girl, Tania has enjoyed much success with James Roche. In 1998 their debut “Buses and Trains” became an Australian and international smash, won a APRA song of the year in 1999, and made a huge mark in the U.S. It's still in the top 25 most played songs in Australia.

    Tania created critically acclaimed electro-rock band/EP - SHE SAID YES supporting Darren Hayes national tour October 2007. This powerhouse of a woman has also been wow-ing global LGBT audiences with her explosive LIVE PA set, from Sydney Mardi Gras to Spain, to Manchester Pride.

    Tania’s has many allocated as a songwriter and vocalist, proving her mark globally - featured and co-written with artists including The Veronicas, Taylor Dayne, Samantha Jade, Jessica Mauboy, Tina Arena, Delta Goodrem, George Sheppard, Kpop stars Jus2, Eurovision winner & Swedish Eurovision winner  Mans Zelmerlow and Alex Curtis' Junior Eurovision entry 'WE ARE', to name a few. Her versatility has also seen her shine in the EDM world, streaming highly and featuring on major Spotify playlists.

    Tania resides in both Sweden & Australia and is enjoying new success as a solo artist. Her recent participation in SBS's 'Eurovision-Australia Decides' and single 'PIECE OF ME' ignites an exciting, new chapter for this singer/songwriter.

    Bachelor Girl is busy again on the festival circuit touring with Australian heavyweights such as Farnham, Icehouse, Reyne and Diesel. With Tania and James songwriting chemistry as strong as ever, Bachelor Girl continues to release new music, including their social conscious new single 'Speak'. As songwriter/artist and coach, Tania is also honoured to be an APRA ambassador for the Nordic Region, helping as the conduit for more great Aussie-Swedish collaborations.

    In a world where nutrition and making healthy food choices eating has become so confusing, I chat with special guest Jenny Tschiesche, or better down as the Lunchbox doctor, about simplifying nutrition information. We discuss the most popular "diets" and ways of eating, how to cook healthy family meals for busy people, seasonal eating, gut health, how our food choices impacts our mental health and our social wellbeing.

    Jenny is one of the UK's leading nutrition experts and the founder of www.lunchboxdoctor.com, a hugely popular brand. She has a passion for creating delicious and nutritious recipes for busy people. She has worked with leading brands and health campaigns including BBC Sport, Sport England and Cancer Research UK. Jenny regularly contributes to TV and radio shows including Good Morning Britain and BBC Radio and to newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, The Mail, The Express and Top Santé. Her first recipe book was published on 13 March 2018. It is entitled Sheet Pan Cooking: 101 recipes for simple and nutritious meals straight from the oven. Jenny has also written a book called Gut Health and Probiotics which was published in September 2018 and another recipe book called The Modern Multi-cooker Cookbook: 101 Recipes for your Instant Pot (™) which was released early September 2018.
