His first book They Can’t Kill Us All is a compilation of his reporting on the Black Lives Matter movement, and his latest release American Whitelash provides a nuanced and human account of how the forces of white power retaliated against the presidential victory of Barack Obama, helped to propel the rise of Donald Trump, and resulted in multiple racially-motivated murders.
