We’ve Always Been Weird

Merry Christmas! In this Christmas Eve episode, we discuss Krampus, a classic demonic Christmas-related figure, from his origins in German and Austrian folklore to how he's celebrated in modern day.

On Tuesday's episode of We've Always Been Weird, inspired by the Fallout series, we (I) discuss the Cold War phenomena of nuclear testing doom towns. The concept of doom towns, sometimes known as survival towns, is inherently spooky and uncanny valley, and the lore around them is complex. Tune in Wednesday for our second epi of the week!

In this episode, we continue our Christmas journey by delving into the wonderful world of Icelandic folklore. Some of the most well known local stories revolving around Christmas include the carnivorous giantess Gryla, her house-sized cat, and her 13 children, the Yule Lads, who bring either mischief or terror depending on the tale.

hello!!!! for the holiday season, we decided to do something that felt vaguely topical and discuss one of America's most prevalent mysteries: sometime after 1587, the colony of Roanoke seemingly vanished without much of a trace, but where did the colony of Roanoke go? What happened to the people there? Did they really disappear, or is the answer pretty clear after all?

if you've ever wanted to hear someone who does not understand the cosmos talk about them, this is the episode for you. Haley had somehow not heard of 3I/Atlas and when Hannah learned about it, she only felt fear until she was calmed by Google. We dive into some of the fun and strange facts about the comet here as best as we can, including Dr. Avi Loeb's belief that it could be a technological object instead of a natural one. There is screaming in this episode.

Happy Halloween! We love you guys so much <3 For our first on-Halloween episode ever, we are covering the legend of Stull Cemetery, located in Kansas. Despite its similarities to other small towns, Stull has a crumbling stone church and an ancient cemetery that are said to be visited by the devil twice a year - on the spring equinox and Halloween. The haunted tales of this tiny locale that stands as one of the seven portals to hell on Earth have spread far and wide, from the Vatican all the way to Ariana Grande, who had her own experience on the cemetery grounds.

In October 2008, Ghost Adventures published an episode that introduced a hidden haunt to those outside of the paranormal investigation community: Bobby Mackey's Music World. Bobby Mackey's is a locally-owned honky tonk country bar in Kentucky ran by country singer Bobby Mackey, which boasts live music, a mechanical bull, and a portal to hell in the basement. While Bobby himself is a skeptic, there have been many encounters by others on the premises, and the storied history makes it clear how the ghosts and demons who roam the dance floor came to be.

Hello friends <3 today we discuss the real life inspirations behind the movies of the Conjuring franchise. Ed and Lorraine Warren documented chilling paranormal cases from the Perron family haunting to the Enfield poltergeist to a mysterious, spectral nun, and tons of media has originated from their ventures.
