The Giants couldn’t have scripted John Harbaugh’s debut much better. New York controlled the Cowboys from the opening drive, imposed its physical style and delivered the kind of dominant performance Giants fans have been waiting years to see. The biggest difference was obvious: coaching mattered.
Jaxson Dart looked more decisive, getting the ball out quickly and taking advantage of a Dallas defense that couldn’t pressure him. The Giants pounded the football, Isaiah Likely created matchup nightmares, and a crucial sequence after Tyrone Tracy’s fumble showed how this team can overcome mistakes instead of unraveling. Even against a flawed Cowboys defense, the Giants finally looked like the bigger, tougher and better-coached team.

Tiki Barber and Evan Roberts reflect on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, honoring the firefighters, police officers and other heroes who risked and lost their lives trying to save others. Tiki recalls returning to New York after the Giants played in Denver the night before the attacks, while Evan shares what it felt like experiencing that terrifying day from Washington, D.C.
They also remember how sports helped New York begin to feel normal again, from Mike Piazza’s unforgettable home run to the Giants returning to the field. Twenty-five years later, the memories remain vivid, even as a younger generation now knows September 11 only as history.
Just a few thoughts from us to start the show on this 25th anniversary.
Carton Calls Drake Maye's Performance Inexplicable After Patriots Loss
Drake Maye’s disastrous fourth quarter has Evan Roberts wondering if the Patriots are already showing signs of a major regression, and whether that could give the Jets a real opening in the AFC East. After watching Maye throw three fourth-quarter interceptions, Evan sees a possible roadmap for the Jets to surprise people this season.
Sam Darnold’s injury creates a completely different Jets thought: could Seattle become desperate enough to trade for Geno Smith? Evan floats the possibility while Tiki Barber and Shaun Morash immediately point to Russell Wilson as the more logical Seahawks option. The debate turns into a heated argument over whether Geno or Wilson is closer to playing winning football right now.
The NFL season got underway last night with the Seahawks beating the Patriots. Sam Darnold got injured during their first drive and Drew Lock took over from there. We talked about the importance of having a competent backup quarterback for exactly what happened to Darnold last night.
