Jaxson Dart can change the Giants’ entire outlook, but Connor Hughes has major concerns about whether Matt Nagy’s offense is built to maximize the young quarterback. Hughes explains why Dart must become a top-10 or top-12 quarterback for the Giants to make a Patriots-like leap and why Nagy’s system could make that development much harder.
Hughes also breaks down why Odell Beckham Jr. earned his way onto the roster and helped make Darius Slayton expendable. The conversation then shifts to the Jets, where Breece Hall’s workload remains a question entering Week 1, Hughes predicts an opening loss and explains why Aaron Glenn enters the season with significant job security.
The Giants enter the season with a stunningly similar setup to the Patriots team that made a massive leap behind Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel. Jaxson Dart’s rookie numbers closely mirror Maye’s, while John Harbaugh gives New York the accomplished veteran coach that could accelerate the turnaround. The argument is simple: if New England could make that jump, why can’t the Giants?
The biggest warning is the defense. New York’s run defense was among the league’s worst, and unless that changes, the quarterback development and upgraded roster may not matter. The pass rush offers real upside, but stopping the run could determine whether this Giants season becomes a surprise or another disappointment.
Phil Simms joins us to talk about the impact of John Harbaugh joining the Giants, Jaxson Dart’s accuracy and designed runs they will have for him. and whether the Giants or Jets have better offensive weapons.
He did it so the fans applauding Judge could be heard.
Craig and Big Mac criticize the New York Giants for releasing veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton just one day before the season begins. They analyze the impact on the roster's depth and celebrate the news of Aaron Judge's return to the Yankees.

Aaron Judge is back after missing 84 games, and the Yankees somehow survived his absence with a 45-39 record. Now comes the real challenge: can Judge shake off three months without game action quickly enough to help New York chase down Tampa Bay in the AL East?
The Yankees enter the final stretch four games behind the Rays, with Boston also refusing to disappear. Judge’s return should immediately strengthen a lineup that struggled badly without him, but expectations need to be realistic. The priority is getting Judge comfortable and fully ready for October, even if the Yankees’ chances of stealing the division remain slim.
Judge is back for the last 19 games of the season as the team pushes toward the playoffs.
Roger Clemens joins the Carton Show on WFAN for a wide-ranging conversation about his legendary career, his time with the Yankees, Mike Piazza, Mariano Rivera, Aaron Judge, the 2001 Yankees, and the unforgettable moments that shaped his career.
