Content Warnings: KULT: Divinity Lost is a contemporary horror roleplay game with mature adult themes and dark subject matter.
Specific content warnings for this scenario, The Driver, include: Guns, Gunshot injury, Gun Violence, Robbery gone wrong, Blood, bodily harm and death, kidnapping and abduction, self harm to get out of restraints and fire.
Show Notes
Originally released in 1991, this 4th edition of KULT came out in 2018 and features a rule-set based on a variant of the Powered By The Apocalypse system.
In KULT: Divinity Lost, the protagonists are people who become involved in or are pulled into events tied to their pasts. Past sins catch up with them, demanding atonement. Childhood fears bubble up to the surface, manifesting in physical form. These terrors take their shape based on what lurks inside of us.
The protagonists are forced to journey into the abyss, perhaps even across the threshold of death itself, only to discover there is no final destination – Death is only the beginning.
The Driver by Robin Liljenberg is a one on one improv heavy KULT: Divinity Lost scenario. A desperate fugitive is speeding through the desert in a failing car, fleeing some unknown threat and bringing an injured person or hostage. They see an abandoned location ahead and must decide what to do once the car stops running from lack of gas.

To tide us over til our next one-shot, here's a bonus episode where our host and GM Fiona chats to Josh McCrowell, the game designer behind ENNIE nominated 'His Majesty the Worm': A tabletop roleplaying game designed for dungeon crawling.
'His Majesty the Worm' is a new-school game with old-school sensibilities: a classic megadungeon experience given fresh life through a focus on the mundanities and small moments of daily life inside the dungeon. The Game Master is given tools to create a megadungeon called the Underworld and the players create adventurers to explore the Underworld in pursuit of their personal quests. Tarot cards are used as a randomizing element for the majority game mechanic within the system, from tests of fate and combat to designing and maintaining the dungeon itself!
