In this episode Arnie and Fred discuss some of the women disciples found in the New Testament and what they did. This will be the first of two episodes. You will find that the godly women in the New Testament church were critical to the success of spreading the gospel throughout the world. We will note nine named disciples and the work that they performed in the spreading of the gospel at that time as recorded by both Paul and Luke. In this episode, Arnie and Fred continue the discussion about evangelists. We begin by noting more duties to the gospel that evangelists have. The New Testament requires evangelists to point out false teachers and the false doctrine they propagate as well as those who incite unnecessary controversy. They are to command and teach the gospel according to the authority contained in the New Testament, contending for it without the slightest exception. The evangelist has duties to the called out body as a group and to individual members of it. Those duties are discussed. Finally, his duties to those who are lost are noted. In this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss those in the called out body, the church, who deliver the message of the gospel. There are a number of terms that are used in the New Testament to refer to these disciples and we note each one. We discuss some "nots" concerning these evangelists. The Lord's pattern in the New Testament reveals duties that these preachers have in delivering the word of God to the listeners in the called out body as well as alien sinners. In this episode, Arnie and Fred continue the discussion about the local body of Christ. We note the responsibility of elders in the local body as required by the New Testament pattern, as well as their qualifications in order to serve in that capacity. The pattern also identifies special servants in each local assembly, the work they are to do and the qualifications they need to meet in order to serve. Each assembly is to worship God as He has directed. His directions have been recorded by the inspired writers in the New Testament. We discuss those 5 items of worship and the note that each local assembly follows the same written pattern. There is work that God has assigned to each congregation and we note what that work is. The Lord's New Testament pattern also contains a particular lifestyle that His disciples are to follow. Finally we note that the Lord has specified a particular name for the members of His local churches. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. In this episode, Arnie and Fred complete the discussion in the previous episode on The Church Belonging To Christ, noting several passages we were not able to discuss in that episode that related to the universal or general assemble of the Lord's saints. The majority of this episode deals with the assemblies of Christ that are in various localities. First, we discuss the fact that the New Testament contains the Lord's pattern for His local assemblies to follow in its membership, organization, worship, work and name. we then note that each local group of saints are organized according to the same pattern. We see that every Christian must identify to a local assembly in order to do the work the Lord assigns to His people in this New Testament period. We discuss the elders that are part of the pattern and their work in that regard. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your Bible handy in order to verify what we are saying.

In a previous episode, Arnie and Fred discussed the word "church", exploring several points regarding Christ's church as we read about it in the Bible. In this episode you will hear us note some additional aspects of the church belonging to Christ as found in the New Testament. We will again note the word "church" as translated in most English Bibles, in particular discussing the Koine Greek word "ecclesia", its meaning and usage in the various New Testament passages, in which it appears 112 times. This will be the first of two episodes. The second episode will appear next week and will deal specifically with the local church of Christ. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. In this episode, Arnie and Fred answer a number of questions from listeners concerning instrumental music in worship. People who visit a church of Christ wonder why there are no organs, pianos or other musical instruments. People sometimes say that they don't know of a passage that forbids the use of instruments in worship. We note what the Bible says about the silence of the scriptures. Some people say that instruments would help to establish the pitch and rhythm of the songs. Some  wonder why instruments aren't used now, since they were common in the Old Testament as guided by the prophets at that time. Also, we have been asked why is it wrong to use instruments in worship in church, but OK at home? Finally, many note that instruments are recorded in Revelation being used in heaven. So why can't we use them in worship now? We discuss what the Bible says about these questions. Have your Bible handy and listen in for about 30 minutes on our conversation.

In this episode Arnie and Fred discuss what the Bible says about forgiveness. We begin by noting that all accountable people sin and consequently are in need of forgiveness from God. Sin causes a barrier that separates the sinner from the victim. When forgiveness is granted, reconciliation is then possible between the two parties. We discuss Jesus' parable about the unmerciful servant and its application. We look at passages that indicate that God grants forgiveness to all who obey Him, but note that His forgiveness is conditional. Our individual forgiveness is looked at as well and what Jesus says about that. What attitude are we to have toward those who wrong us? Does God say anything about that? In this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss what the bible says about Jesus coming again. We note that Jesus assured His disciples that He would come again. We note the various passages that say He will come again, and there are plenty. It is noted that the date of the Lord's return is not told us in the bible.  His return is not imminent and there are a number of events that are discussed that would precede Christ's return. We talk about Jesus' teaching on the necessity of always being prepared for His coming. Finally, we note what would occur when Jesus comes again. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on this episode.

There are evidently a number of religious organizations that teach that an individual once saved as a Christian can never do anything that would cause them to fall and be lost forever. Arnie and Fred discuss the fact that the Bible records a number of Christians who had fallen away. There are also admonitions in the bible regarding the possibility of individual apostacy. We discuss what the Bible says about a mass apostacy that will occur before the return of Christ. There are grave warnings of the consequences and fate of apostate disciples.
