Abuse is about power and coercion and always the fault of the perpetrator, but we know that sadly many of us blame ourselves. Abusive people believe they have the right to control others, often either because they believe their own feelings and needs should be the priority or because they enjoy exerting the power that such abuse gives them.  This ultimately leads to  the receiver of abuse feeling less valuable and undeserving of respect.

Nobody ever deserves to be abused and you’re never responsible for abuse that you receive. You are here now because you are courageous and determined – and because you know you’re worth more.
