What is True Renunciation? - Movie Workshop at Celebration of Illumination 2025 with David Hoffmeister

The movie David shows at the "Celebration of Illumination" event is an excellent introduction to the more profound teachings of A Course in Miracles and its practical application to the world. 

Mysticism, which is pure devotion to God, is often confused with renunciation, especially in Eastern traditions. However, Jesus clarifies that true renunciation is about withdrawing belief in the ego, not performing ritualistic acts. 

As everyone becomes aware of their attachments and addictions, including the habit of judgment, Jesus aims to help us free our minds by realizing we were never meant to be judges. He teaches that renouncing the ego, created by our belief in it, is a mind event requiring disciplined mind training to live as the Christ rather than the ego.
