I've made it to S1S2! And it's over an hour long!
In today's conversation, I talked to Nina, a Vietnamese Canadian from the podcast PASS THE POUTINE, a podcast that Nina produces, records, and edits on her own.
We talked a little about her family's history being refugees in Hong Kong after the Vietnam war, their time living in Canada after immigrating, her experience growing up in Canada not feeling Vietnamese, her time working abroad in Asia, and of course talked about her podcast, PASS THE POUTINE and about the journey of podcasting.
Throughout our conversation, she keeps dropping gems like:
1. How petty her Asian dad is
2. The Vietnamese Hustle Lifestyle and how Vietnamese Men are like
3. How she ate in the teacher's room during lunch because no one wanted to eat with her
4. How she ended up making friends in high school with Korean international students
5. Travelling to Korea and Vietnam after she graduated high school at 18
6. Her podcast journey, recording podcasts with strangers in her car
7. How Asian American men be winning on Tinder in Asia and how it is very easy to get an Asian girlfriend as an Asian American men
8. How she didn't feel Vietnamese growing up as she was like the classic ABG (or if you are old and Canadian, you called them NAMMER GIRLS)
9. Being Vietnamese Canadian
