What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero episodes

  • Episode 22: Top Five Favorite Stephen King Films
Breaking away from the routine this week, Paul does things a little differently because, well, because he can and so he did.  Also, his love for the new series Castle Rock has inspired him to count down his favorite films adapted from STEPHEN KING novels and stories.  So that is exactly what Paul has done … Continue reading Episode 22: Top Five Favorite Stephen King Films

  • Episode 21: Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

Welcome Lurkers to beautiful New York, New York where this week we talk about an overgrown mama's boy and his trip to the Big Apple. Or, well, 25 minutes worth of it anyway (psst, the majority of this story is on a boat). But seriously, welcome back to another episode of the Next Level Network production of What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero. On the agenda this week, Castle Rock, novels inspired by the 80s series "V", Elvira, Buffy and bad movies. Also, Paul has a 30 second soap box moment about Howard the Duck, promotes his social media accounts and ends the show on the "darkest side of the night". All this, and of course, a rundown about the movie of the week: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN. So get ready to party on a boat, and head to British Columbia, err, I mean, the city that never sleeps with the podcast so bad it should be named trash. Haha! It's this week's WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO. Viewer discretion is advised.

  • Episode 20: Super Mario Bros. (1993)
Holy Canoli Paesanos!!  It’s the Super Mario Brothers Super (horrible) Podcast, or something like that.  No, it’s even worse.  It’s What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero, and your host, Paul has a stinky episode in line for you this week.  Friday the 13th, AMC, San Diego Comic Con news, trailer talk about Godzilla and Aquaman, and a … Continue reading Episode 20: Super Mario Bros. • Episode 19: DOOM (2005)

This week's episode is a listener request from Jacob Allan for the 2005 movie DOOM, starring Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, Richard Brake and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. As well as talking about DOOM, Paul also talks briefly about the Sharknado series, the trailer for the upcoming film "Mandy", his fear of water, Pop Will Eat Itself, and he teases a little bit about what's to come in the month of October. Also, a Lurker's Recommendation and the reveal of the next episode, err umm, atrocity to be unleashed upon the listener base of this "horror-ble" Next Level Production. All this, and a little bit more as this week's episode is "coming down", right here on WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO. Run for your lives now!

  • Episode 18: Silent Hill (2006)

Better late than never. Paul finally stops scrapping the recordings of the episode and releases this week's splurge into the podcast world; SILENT HILL, from 2006. As well this week, you'll hear Paul explain how his need to control his anger factored into the delay of this episode. He also discusses about possible changes and growth that could come to the show, as well as talking about some of the other recent films he's taken in recently. A Lurker's Recommendation, and a whole slew of side tangents also make their way into this week's hour plus of noise pollution. It's nothing less than what you'd expect from the obnoxious, foul mouthed cretin host of this podcast, the Next Level Network Production of WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO. You've been warned.

  • Episode 17: Resident Evil (2002)

Finally....the Paul...has come back...to his podcast! And finally, it is the month of E3,. So as promised earlier, this month the podcast will focus on movies that were inspired by video games in the horror and science fiction genres. This week's episode will focus on the 2002 Paul W.S. Anderson film inspired by the game from Capcom, RESIDENT EVIL. Along with giving his views about the featured movie, Paul also gives a quick and spoiler free review on HEREDITARY, as well as his thoughts on the trailers for SUSPIRIA (2018) and the upcoming Blumhouse Production of HALLOWEEN (2018). All this, and a song at the end giving us a "reason to believe". So, take your antivirus shots, and lock and load your clips, as Paul takes you all into the Hive, and reminisces about the movie some love, and some hate: RESIDENT EVIL on this week's episode of the Next Level Network production of WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO. You're all going to die down here.

  • Episode 16: Dario Argento’s Suspiria (1977)

This week, Paul contends with the heat, and lack of sleep to bring you this love letter to one of his favourite films, Dario Argento's Suspiria. From everything to Solo: A Star Wars Story to the Italian classic film to Jamie Foxx being cast as Spawn in the upcoming Blumhouse Production, it's a blabberfest of rantings and admiration this week. Including a Lurker's Recommendation and a shout out to another horror podcast that was awesome to shout out What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero earlier this week, it's 90 minutes of Paul being as annoying as he can be. So hopefully you will all enjoy listening to a sleep deprived maniac express his thoughts on several topics this week on the 16th episode of the Next Level Network Production of WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO. Thank you for listening, and please share and/or review this podcast (if you want to, but you don't have to).

*This has since been listed as my least favourite episode of the show, but I leave it up for anyone interested in checking it out.

  • Episode 15: The Bone Yard (1991)

Hey kids, do you like poodles? Fluffy, soft, cute little poodles? No, you don't? Well, what about killer mutant poodles? I bet you like those kinds, don'cha? If so, well then you've come to the right podcast. This week, on the Next Level Network Production of What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero, Floofsoms, the killer mutant poodle ghoul is a topic of discussion, along with Miss Poopinplatz. This week, Paul talks about a teen-age favourite of his; the 1991 direct to video low budget B-movie known as THE BONEYARD, a film directed by James Cummins. First though, Paul takes about 15-20 minutes to reflect back on nearly two years of podcasting on The Bats, Bows n' Books Podcast, his other project that is coming to a close this coming June. Because of the "triple B podcast", Paul learned many things about podcasting, but more so, he made a lot of great new friends and acquaintances. So before closing the curtain on The Bats, Bows n' Books Podcast for good, Paul takes a bit of time out to share some thoughts and feelings towards the podcast that started it all for him back in July of 2016. Enjoy the show everyone, and have a great week.

  • Episode 14: White Zombie (1932)

After a week’s hiatus, What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero returns with a blast from the past. To start things off, Paul quickly dabbles through some headlines of the past two weeks; a few stories that have piqued his interest. Then your undead host lists off some of the movies he’s taken in over the past two weeks, and adds a Lurker’s Recommendation before traveling back in time to this week’s Main Attraction, and what a flashback it is. This week, What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero dives into a gothic tale of love and deceit; a tale of voodoo and the undead. It is the Bela Lugosi classic that would succeed his 1931 epic Dracula, but nevertheless would deliver one of his most chilling performances of his career. This week’s episode focuses on the Victor Halperin 1932 classic film, WHITE ZOMBIE, starring the Count himself, Bela Lugosi, and the very lovely Madge Bellamy. White Zombie is a movie of death, and tragedy, with a hint of comedy and a devious witch doctor whose employer is quite the villain in his own right. And this week, Paul breaks it all down and ends the episode with a kiss to the thunders of 1965 (you’ll understand when you hear it). So get ready to join in the voodoo spell that just won’t go away, the latest episode of the Next Level Network production of WHAT LURKS BEHIND PODCAST ZERO.
