Throughout their development, babies go by different names—zygote, embryo, and fetus, for example. Now some people will argue that an unborn child isn’t a person, he or she is just an embryo or a fetus. But a name isn’t what makes us a person—being made in God’s image is!
And, anyway, those names are just terms to describe a stage of development, like terms we use after birth like newborn or toddler. We wouldn’t say a newborn is less of a person than a toddler just because they’re less developed. And the same should be true for life in the womb.
Every unborn baby is a person, made in God’s image, deserving of life.
