Women serial killers' make-up just 11% of all cases in the past century. In recent decades it’s more like 5 to 7%. Up until 40 years ago, law enforcement believed there were no women serial killers. They never identified them because it was believed women were incapable of the depravity needed for these horrific crimes. Women serial killers have been around since the 16th century. We discuss why and how women kill. What makes them different from their male counterparts? What makes them different from each other? Of course, Melissa and Renee give their opinions on the matter and decide, could you be a serial killer?

We won’t have serial Killers if you stop counting
America has 3 times more serial killers per capita than any other country in the world and has produced 67.58% of known serial killers. We look at why. The USA has a staggering figure of 3,204 serial killers. Is it just because we are better at gathering data? Is it the obsession of the media? Is it the size of our country or our transient lifestyle? We go through all these possible scenarios and more with our sense of humor always in tow.

Heart Breaking, Move On!
In 2020, gun violence killed nearly 20,000 Americans, more than any other year in at least 2 decades. An additional 24000 people died by suicide with a gun. Then in March the world opens up and the nuts came out! Between Covid 19 and the protests over police brutality, there was a 64% surge in firearm sales. What do we do? Let’s talk about some solutions and get our head out of the sand!

Opioid deaths rose 29% during the pandemic. Not a huge surprise that people were self-medicating during a difficult time. The overload of the pandemic and the election, the illegal drug trade has been able to multiply their efforts. The (STOP) act put in place in 2017 was meant to prevent and enforce criminal cartels from being able to ship illegal drugs to America via the International Postal Service. However, the Trump administration never implemented any of these regulations. We have the laws, but we have no one enforcing them! Listen, rate, and review this important and personal episode.

Cybercrime will cost the world $10.5 Trillion annually by 2025. Globally, cybercrime cost is expected to grow 15% every year after that. This represents the greatest transfer of economic wealth in history. The cost to citizens of the United States is not just financial. A cyber-attack could potentially disable the economy of every city and state in the country. Big surprise the whole U.S is shockingly unprepared!

Maybe we should've named this episode "Laws that are made to Discriminate" instead. Red states are writing their own legislation over blue cities and some of them are disturbing. We aren’t seeing any restraints on preemption. Republicans on state levels are running all over little towns and big cities, preempting local laws to carry out their conservative views. This includes laws against inclusive zones, climate change, and our LBGTQ communities. We talk about the difference between gender and sex. Should transgender teens be able to compete in sports and the laws that are being made against them?

Where were YOU
On this episode, we discuss the year 2020 and what it meant to the world. This was not just a one-day event but an all-year endurance marathon. How we all had challenges before this, but we will all know our lives and be defined by what comes after. Did you stay confined? Were you part of the lucky group that got to work from home? We all know what essential worker means now and you can’t put that in a box with police, doctors, and nurses. Those are essential professions but so are retail, warehouse workers, and delivery drivers. We explain the meaning of coronavirus and the discrimination that is brought on in our communities. We have a Trump timeline of crazy shit and find out how both Renee and Melissa felt about the vaccine.
