Happy Thanksgiving to my United States listeners!
I am truly grateful for you my listeners and for giving me the opportunity to share information about things that I love.
So truly- thank you for being here, thank you for listening.
As we come toward the end of the year, we oft times find ourselves in a time of reviewing and self-reflection.
Many of you may find yourself being reviewed by a boss or by your teachers.
My bosses and managers will find themselves reviewing their team and their employees.
And finally, all of us will have an opportunity to look at what we accomplished for the year and consider where we want to go from here.
Frequently, this process causes us to focus on what we aren’t doing.
Almost by necessity, the process of review seems like an exercise in seeing what was not accomplished.
And frankly, this is somewhat natural- our brains are trying to keep us safe so things that aren’t completed feel like risks.
To the reviewers, you are in a position of great power to shape how your employees think.
I want to invite you to flip your script and focus more time in your review on the progress made and the victories of 2023.
Why you may ask? Because your brain focuses on what you reinforce.
So, if you focus on the things that have been accomplished, then the drive for accomplishment grows.
Which means you will be more productive and ultimately more likely to accomplish the thing that was missed.
I can’t wait to dive into these principles with you on today’s episode!
