Americans are losing trust in most of their major institutions, including the institutions of government and democracy. This distrust is driven, argues Yuval Levin, in large part because Americans realize that many people in those institutions have started seeing them as a platform rather than a responsibility. This episode proposes that we can help rebuild the institutions to which we belong — families, churches, schools, local communities — by recommitting ourselves to the people we serve within them.
