Let’s dive deep into WHY Self-love isn't just important, it's ESSENTIAL!
A lack of self-love can lead us to abuse ourselves through food, substance abuse, or poor relationship choices. When we love ourselves, we can set healthy boundaries and make healthy choices for ourselves.
Is self-love the best love?
Self-love, which is also often referred to as self-compassion helps us to take care of our own needs, accept our weaknesses and failures as well as our strengths, and stay in touch with our emotions. Because selflessness is such a prized virtue in many circles, many believe self-love is egoistical. Caring for other people is important, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of your own well-being.
Having confidence, and self-love has so many benefits. Being confident leads to more happiness and joy in your life. The more self-confident you are, the happier you are with yourself, and you naturally enjoy so much more of what life has to offer you. When you are confident, people notice and gravitate towards you.

Have you ever questioned whether or not the relationship(s) you are engaging in are toxic or not?
If so, maybe by identifying the true meaning of a toxic relationship would be an ideal place to start.
What’s considered a toxic relationship?
“A toxic relationship is one that makes you feel unsupported, misunderstood, demeaned, or attacked. On a basic level, any relationship that makes you feel worse rather than better can become toxic over time.”
If you’ve now identified that you are involved in a toxic relationship, please be sure to tune in to todays podcast. Stacey and Stephanie will be diving deep into different types of toxic relationships as well as how you can maneuver through them. Which includes understanding when it might be time for you to remove yourself from the toxic relationship you’re engaged in.

Let’s dive into the “WHY” behind unrealistic expectations are just premeditated resentments.
First, merely expecting something to happen will not make it happen. Developmental psychologist Jean Piaget noted that young children have difficulty distinguishing between the subjective worlds in their heads and the outer, objective world. According to Piaget, children therefore sometimes believe that their thoughts can directly cause things to happen — for example, thinking angry thoughts about your little brother can cause him to fall down the stairs. That’s just one example of “Magical Thinking”.
It turns out that many normal adults continue to engage in various forms of “magical thinking” throughout their lives. What about the huge popularity of “The Law Of Attraction”, which says that our thoughts attract events into our lives. For many of us, it is difficult to let go of the idea that expecting something to happen will make it happen.
Second, human beings have a natural tendency to pin their hopes for happiness on fulfilled expectations. There is nothing wrong with this in and of itself, as long as we have good reasons to believe that fulfilling an expectation will make us happy, and we take the necessary steps toward fulfilling those expectations. "Good reasons" might include us knowing from past experience that certain things make us happy. For example, I know from experience that my morning cup of coffee will almost inevitably give me a little bit of happiness. I, therefore, expect this experience each morning after I finish my yoga and breakfast (both of which also reliably give me a bit of happiness).
The problem of expectation occurs when we expect something to happen without good reasons for that expectation. If I believe that my expectations alone will bring me what I want, I am using magical thinking and setting myself up for disappointment. This is really obvious when we are talking about coffee. I can't make a cup of coffee just by thinking it into existence; I have to take the necessary steps to make it happen. I have to grind the beans, put the coffee and water in my coffee maker, and push the button. Just expecting my cup of coffee to appear is delusional.
This is less obvious when our expectations involve other people. Most of us are sane enough to realize that expecting a cup of coffee to materialize from our thoughts is unrealistic. Yet many of us at some point have mistakenly believed that expecting other people to behave the way we want will actually make them behave that way. One member of a couple might expect the other to make coffee. This is fine and good if the other person is happy to do so. But what happens if the other person has no interest in living up to that expectation? We feel shocked, morally indignant, and resentful. Expectations are premeditated resentments.
We're excited to have you join us as we go beyond the silence to break through the truth that no one wants to talk about. Listen in as this dynamic duo unpacks thoughts, feelings, and emotions of the human conditions that control, influence, and drive our behaviors.
