I’m going to be honest; today’s show is an unusual one.

On this week’s episode I have an eye-opening conversation with pastor and New York Times best-selling author, John Burke, about his research into the stories of people who have had near-death experiences and how it links to what the Bible teaches about heaven.

If you're thinking, “wait a minute…that’s weird” I get it. John does, too, which is why he is committed to having scripture inform our view of heaven, first and foremost. And, to ease your mind, even more, you should know that “Imagine Heaven” was endorsed by some of the world’s foremost biblical scholars, like JP Moreland, Ph.D. at Biola University  (not the same JP as my hubby) and Gary Habermas, Ph.D. department chair at Liberty University. 

But here’s the most important thing: when we understand what the Bible teaches about Heaven it transforms how we relate to God here on Earth! I think you’re going to have more than a few “ah-ha” moments as you listen to today’s show. I know I did. 

Heaven is real and God wants us to be prepared to live with Him there forever.

John Burke is the founder and lead pastor of Gateway Church, a multi-site church based in Austin, Texas, which has grown to more than 4,500 people since its start in 1998.
