Gov. Greg Abbott is now stressing that if people would just wear masks in public, he will not have to impose restrictions once again on business and movement to control the spread of coronavirus. Meantime, runoff elections across the state have now set the table for the general election in a year when Democrats seem ascendant but Republicans vow to keep their hold on power despite current infighting.
