Watch as he talks about growing up in a competitive household, being the younger brother of Eric Reid and what drove him to blaze his own trail. We discussed his recruiting process and how hard it was for him to make his final decision to attend Stanford. He went on to speak about how having his brother in San Francisco playing for the 49ers helped him make the adjustment from high school to college while also getting exposed to life in the NFL. We discussed the current climate with all the protesting and how his brother Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick were blackballed for what everyone is now speaking boldly about. How that even impacted where he got drafted. Finally, we wrapped up by discussing his professional experience and how he is starting to prepare for life after football. In this week’s episode we have Dayton, Ohio native Chunky Clements. Chunky explains to us what it was like growing up in Dayton, having to leave his Mom and move in with his Dad at the age of three and his introduction into sports. He talks about growing up in a football family and what impact that had on him at an early age while going on to make the claim that the state of Ohio is the greatest football state in the country. Bold but viable argument. First year playing football he quit but found his way back on a year later. Being so proud of the schools he attended and those who poured into him growing up especially his father. He dives into the recruiting process and why it’s so important to make the right the decision when picking a school to attend. Experiencing the culture shock coming from Dayton to being on campus at the university of Illinois, facing adversity through 3 head coach changes in 6 months and having to make drastic changes in his senior season. Devastating injury that cost him an opportunity of getting drafted  to later making his debut on Christmas against another Ohio native Ben Roethlisberger where he nearly recorded his first career sack. Such an amazing high followed by several lows before ultimately deciding to go back finish school and start the next chapter of his life.
