First off, our apologies for being late. Life got in the way and one of us was not doing so well. Things are back on track here and we sat down to give you our take on the penultimate episode of Season 02.

Some things we saw coming and some we sure did not. One thing that is for sure is that we are sure getting a lot of information thrown at us as the season quickly wraps up. 

Are the writers trying to get out too much information in such a little time? Was the story re-written when the series was renewed for another season?

While we have affectionately called this episode “Find the Little Man in the Boat” the title “Double Dutch” doesn’t quite do this show justice. We talk about that as we start off this show.

We take a bit of a different approach as we talk about this episode this week, trying to keep the flow going a little bit better.

There is definitely some serious action going on here and we are getting a deeper look into Zlata’s mind and how she runs her business.

Polly is struggling and Anne is her strong centered self and Shanghai is bringing it all together with the bratty birthday party.

We glimpse at Uncle Daddy’s reaction to the violence against his family. But more importantly we learn what real family is.

Desna continues to grow closer to Zlata, despite the crew’s increasing concern as her relationship with Dr. Ruval intensifies; Dean gets an opportunity to showcase his talents; Uncle Daddy gets his mojo back.

Things are heating up and way faster than we expected. Sit down and fasten your seat belt, things are going to start getting super bump.

This show is all over the place, lots of jumping back and forth. Does that add to the intensity of the show? It sure doesn’t hurt it.

Russian Karaoke, fancy cars, boys in bulging hot pants, faggots having cocktails with uptight Republicans. This is definitely a 2 drink minimum episode.

In an attempt to cozy up to Ruval’s mother, Desna puts together a spa day for her and a couple of young girls from his charity; Quiet Ann gets a surprise visit from her brother, who convinces her to attend a family dinner.

Turn everything around…this CLAWS episode is NOTHING like anything we have seen from this series at all. Richard goes so far as to say it is his “favourite” show of Season 1 and Season 2.

We get a glimpse into why Quiet Anne is so quiet and she isn’t really all that quiet.

Would you believe that Anne has a family? We get to meet them and the skeletons in their closet at a family dinner. Everybody’s favourite.

Madame Matilde, something this way rotten comes…we both feel something is brewing there.

Marnie and Polly are going off on a weird track; are they headed for disaster?

We get to glimpse further into the artist side of Dean, with his dancing and twerkin’.

Then we wrap things up with an AA meeting, a show song, a fight, a possible breakup and of course just when you think everything is going one way, the writers dig their claws in you and pull you in a different direction!

 

Desna’s relationship with Ruval deepens when he introduces her to his mother, Matilde. Polly grows concerned when Marnie continues to pull away from her. Meanwhile, Jenn, still depressed by Bryce’s recent indiscretion, falls off the wagon. After Uncle Daddy disrespects Zlata, he finds himself on the receiving end of Zlata’s twisted wrath.

First off a huge shout out to wardrobe, hair and make up; we are blown away!

Tune in as we choke down on some chocolate croissant and mill over the excitement in this episode. Dean wants to get his wang out and dance, Uncle Daddy likes a St. Andrew’s Cross, Strawberries just to name a few of the erotic moments.

We even get a further glimpse into the poly-sided Polly as she shows us even more of her abilities.

Desna, now pinned under the stiletto-tipped nail of Riva’s sister, Zlata, must come up with an idea to generate more customers for the clinic. Meanwhile, Quiet Ann helps Dean and Virginia get to a very important appointment, which leads to an unexpected moment of joy.

Again, we are recording from our favourite café, the sun has not let up and the hot boys keep walking around half naked. We even get a sweet glimpse of numerous firefighters as they zoom by.

But when it comes to CLAWS, we go from peaceful and ideal to chaos and crusty. This episode takes us for a ride with new strippers, pregnancy announcements, rim jobs, protesters, shooting a commercial and square dancing.

Some things to note; Quiet Ann makes the best faces, Sweetback looks amazing in spandex, there is even a great homage to the Brady Bunch.

Best line from this episode, “I found a dick and I rode it like a Boss!”

Who’s ready for some shrimp…?

This episode we look into the violent attack that occurred during Miami Pride this past April; where Rene Charlarca and Dmitry Logunov were knocked to the ground and kicked in an attack the couple claims was prompted because they were holding hands.

The incident was caught on CCTV and the 4 attackers have been clearly identified, arrested and charged.

However, the father (Juan Lopez) of one of those involved (Juan Carlos Lopez) says that this incident couldn’t possibly be a hate crime because he, himself, is gay and that he and his partner of 15 years, raised Juan Carlos Lopez.

We call bull shit.
