Trending today: more evidence that the streaming-music model is lining corporations’ pockets at the expense of actual musicians. Victor and Aaron discuss a story finding that Kendrick Lamar only made 7 million dollars for “Not Like Us” – which is a lot, but a drop in the bucket considering how ubiquitous it was in popular culture. A musician who doesn’t completely dominate American culture for an entire year? Well, you’re gonna have to get a second job. Maybe a third.

Trending today: the declining market for custom ringtones, which peaked back in 2007 and has been dropping ever since. (Seems to be a generational thing: there’s a very specific age range of people who are willing to pay money for ringtones – specifically, people who came of age in the mid-2000s. If that’s you, you’ve probably got a more interesting phone than me.)

Trending today: Tropicana is reducing the size of their standard orange juice bottle, amidst a general decline in Americans’ juice-drinking habits. That decline is being caused by a lot of factors – one of which is the negative impact of climate change on the orange crop, which is driving up prices. Which gets Aaron and Victor thinking: if climate change gets worse, how long will it be before Florida’s population starts declining?
