EFS Update-

- 50 cards a week are being implemented at most terminals. A limited amount at each terminal to make certain that all works smoothly

- Company-wide training to be able to assist and support our drivers

- A more flexible system for your drivers that have access to EFS support 24/7/365

- Driver can go to a terminal and ask for a UPS mailer- and then call payroll to start the process

- All new trainees will start to give EFS cards to new trainees

- Orientation will start to give EFS cards to new drivers the following week

Fuel

- Prices went up $.38 per week

- Please fill up at approved locations

- Cold weather and Anti-gel season is approaching

Process Improvement Team

New WIFI Routers

- 1500 already installed in trucks

- You can go out to driver services to check to see if you already have this on your truck and to activate, or if you do not it will allow you to send in a ticket to get you routed in

- Truck/ Trailer matching and empty call communication are still a work in progress

- Expecting good results from Q3

-Q4- is coming up and this is often where Hirschbach shines.

-Freight is ok. We have seen better, and we have seen worse. Core protein out of the Midwest is strong. Ham business is increasing.

-Additional market areas are increasing

-AWG St. Cloud and Lactalis are 2 new accounts on the Dedicated/Spot side

-Lots of upcoming meetings and proactive meetings upcoming to generate and maintain business with our customers

Equipment updates

- supply chain issues seem to be improving and we are continuing to receive new equipment. Almost all Kenworth’s are out other than those that drivers are purchasing

- OTR 1200 trucks

- Dedicated 800-825 trucks

- Spot 100-125 trucks

Safety/ Cargo Safety

- We have had a couple of trailer fires

- Please make sure and do a proper pre-trip each and every time

- CSA scores and HOS continue to be a challenge for us

- Listen to your body from a health standpoint- if something feels off, or not right- please pull over

Our profits are such that we are on track currently to $2,000 per person in the AITW profit sharing

Fred Staugh has been here for about 4 months and is our Chief Maintenance Officer- long history in the trucking career

- Has been involved in trucking since his junior year in trucking= 30+ years

- Enjoys teaching others what he has learned along the way and develop his team to excel in all areas

- He enjoys to golf and listen to music outside of work

- His biggest accomplishment in life so far is getting as far in the industry as he has to date and the relationships he has built in the industry

- Steak on the grill is his go to when he is cooking at home- porterhouse is his favorite

*Tech appreciation week is next week- Week of 10/3

- Thanking our techs for their hard work and persistence, especially over the next couple of years

- We are continuing to improve service to our drivers

- When will trainers be available- we do have them ready- reach out to the CDL team, DM, or Christ Schmitt

- Transflo- we hear you and understand that there are parts of the system not working as well as they could. We are continuing to address this

- Live Unload times- communication has taken place

• Almost through the 3rd quarter- the year is going quickly

• Fred Staugh from Maintenance will be on in the next 1-2 weeks

• DM’s in Dubuque went through Tablet Training. The same training that all of our new drivers go through in Orientation- we want the to be able to help you navigate and answer many of their questions.

If there is something you would like added or changed on the tablet- please let Chris know.

• Business Update: Market is tightening up. We are with 2 of our largest customers- Smithfield and Armada this week and they anticipate strong miles upcoming. They both echoed that continuing our high levels of service is critical. Overcommunicate on any issues that we may have. Keep DM’s and operations in the loop so that we can keep the communication open with the customer. Walmart- is a specific example that we can buckle down and improve on.
