January 24, 2021Ranking The Forsaken
As voted on by our Patrons, we are thrilled to present to you Ali's current ranking of the Forsaken! Today, we'll go through each of the Forsaken and judge them based on four pieces of criteria:
How have their actions furthered the cause of the Shadow thus far?
What potential do they (or their actions) have of causing further harm?
How cool is the name they picked for themself?
What would they order to drink at a bar?
From these rigorous and scholarly and not at all silly questions, we come up with what is no doubt the definitive ranking of the Forsaken, which will definitely not change AT ALL as Ali learns more about them.

Content Warning: there is some conversation about the Forsaken's tendency towards sexual assault and rape in this episode.

January 08, 2021The Straw Haired Chits Discuss the Badass Women of the Wheel
Welcome to an extra-special collaboration featuring Lesley of STUCK ON ARRAKIS and Aradia of WOT SPOILERS and BEYOND EARTH SPOILERS! Today, the Straw Haired Chits are picking up where we left off on Malkier Talks' WOTaHoliday stream (podcast version here) as we discuss the relative strengths and merits of the badass women of the Wheel of Time. Our completely arbitrary system of discourse as we debate how much of a "strong female character" each person is revolves around four points:
Does this character have a clear objective?
Does that objective revolve around a man?
What is the skill set that this character uses to pursue that objective?
What's their boob power ranking?
As you can imagine, some of these points are more important (and serious) than others.

Today's discussion covered, in the following order:
Elayne
Egwene
Nynaeve
Faile

This episode contains SPOILERS through the END of THE SHADOW RISING.
