September 15, 2023: Brilliant Venus shines from the eastern sky during morning twilight.  Use a binocular to find Mercury to the lower left of Regulus.

September 14, 2023: Bright planets Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible during the nighttime hours.  The stars’ places indicate seasonal change is imminent.

September 13, 2023: Look for Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn from the eastern sky to the west-southwest during early morning hours.

September 12, 2023: Venus and Sirius are visible in the eastern sky during morning twilight.  The moon gathers with Venus and Regulus before daybreak.

Brilliant Venus appears as the brilliant Morning Star in the eastern sky during the autumn and winter months of 2023 and early 2024.

September 11, 2023:  Venus and the moon show crescents in the morning sky.  A telescope is needed to view Venus’ crescent phase.

September 10, 2023: The crescent moon is near Gemini’s Pollux before sunrise. Through a telescope, Venus shows a crescent that resembles the moon this morning.

September 9, 2023: During morning twilight the crescent moon is in the eastern sky above Morning Star Venus.

September 8, 2023: The thick crescent moon appears near a star cluster cataloged as Messier 35, at Castor’s foot.  Use a binocular to see the moon and the stellar bundle together.

September 7, 2023:  Before sunrise, the thick crescent moon seems to be gored by Taurus.  Brilliant Venus shines from the east during morning twilight.
