August 26, 2023: Saturn is at opposition overnight.  The moon appears to be boiling in the Teapot of Sagittarius.  Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible simultaneously before sunrise.

August 25, 2023: Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are strung across the morning sky from east to the southwest.  The moon is in front of Ophiuchus, between Scorpius and Sagittarius.

August 24, 2023: Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible before sunrise.  After sunset, the moon occults bright Antares, an easily observed celestial event.

August 23, 2023: Venus returns to the sky, joining four other planets – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.  After sunset, the nearly-half full moon is near Scorpius’ forehead.

August 22, 2023: Venus returns to the morning sky.  Find it low in the east before sunrise.  It rises earlier each morning returning as the bright Morning Star.

August 21, 2023: The evening crescent moon is near Spica in the west-southwest.  Venus is quickly moving into the morning sky.

August 20, 2023: Several bright stars, including Sirius, are in the eastern sky before sunrise.  The crescent moon is near Spica after sunset.

August 19, 2023: The moon is easily seen in the western sky after sundown.  Through a telescope, a distant star plays an imitation moon of Jupiter.
