This book was a real surprise. I listen to business and help books regularly, to keep myself inspired and educated. They are often long waffling turgid affairs where the actual insights are thin on the ground - a few facts padded with the somebody else's stories. This book was different though. Rather than wadding through the filler to get to the gems this book was simply stuffed with them. Helpful and inspiring in equal measure. And based on real experience. Richard's reading style was a joy. Perfect pace, full of character. I'd recommend this book to anyone that needs to keep their spirit up when fighting with the demons brought on by daring to achieve - either in business or in life.

A whole bunch of babble

What did you like about this audiobook?

None of the advise given in general applies to my situation as an unemployed 50+. Who on earth has money to invest in coaches who charge 200+ an hour and give you homework to make you "accountable" for making a career? This book is written for rich people, not for laid off divorced women at 50+ who survive on their own with no lifelines (like many I know).

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

All of the contrary, it made me unlikely to read another book on the topic. I gave it one star because I can't give it zero.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

It's a useless effort on the part of the author and a detour from the true root cause of the unemployment problem.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

The narrator did an excellent work. It's a pity that the contents was so useless.

Very good career tips book.

Apart from the last 2 chapters, one inspirational(about career success =~ happiness, maybe something that needs to be explained in the USA) and the other mostly an ad space, the book is a real little gem, consistently providing actionable and updated tips about all aspects of the career journey in all of its chapters.

The audiobook version has a very high quality audio and narration.

Excellent and up to date!

As a career coach I highly recommend this book for studenta who are about or just graduated from college: it is crowded with useful themes and tips about how to go on building your career! I find it also useful for students starting college, so they know how they can take best advantage of their experience!
