The pampered daughter of a duke...
Lady Arabella Tremont has spent her entire life protected and overshadowed by her restrictive father. But she is a Tremont, after all, and the morning after she is nearly ruined at a ball by a handsome stranger, Arabella's father demands she make an arranged match with the heir to a dukedom. In desperation, Arabella takes matters into her own hands.
Takes a London holiday with the most unsuitable of chaperones....
Major Kingsley is in London to avoid his parents' dreadful house party. To his surprise he runs into the enticing - and unforgettable - minx he met at a ball the previous night. Arabella, or Birdie, as he knows her, insists he owes her three favors - for he's put her in a terrible pinch. Kingsley agrees, if only to delay his trip home and because the notion of spending the day with this enchanting bit of muslin is too tempting to resist. But all too quickly he discovers Arabella's requests are hardly what he expected....

    Short, Fun listen
I enjoyed this story by Elizabeth Boyle; however, there were so many references to other characters stories that after reading it, I looked up Boyle's website to find that it is book 8.5 of the "Bachelor Series". Although the story, cute, short tale that it is, can definitely stand alone, if you are like me and hate jumping in in the middle and not understanding references to others, wait for Audible to this series.
Come on Audible-more Elizabeth Boyle would be nice and this series promises to be good!
It's a small world after all
It didn't take long to listen to this book, and I was not disappointed with the story line or the length. We are introduced to the future duke of Marberry, known through out the book as Major Kingsley, and his reluctant future bride Lady Arabella, also known as Birdie. Both Kingsley and Birdie are looking to escape being forced into marriage with the other, known only to each other by their formal titles. They meet at a ball were Kingsley is looking for a bed partner and Birdie is looking for an adventure. See where I'm going here? Yeah, they meet and sparks fly. Kingsley comes away with a black eye and Birdie is put further under the rule of her unbending father, so she runs. She lands in the arms of the very man who can give her the best adventure...Kingsley! After spending one day and night together, she runs again thinking he has abandoned her. Of course they are brought back together to be introduced to each other using their proper titled names. In the end they both find that they have fallen in love with the very person they dreaded having to marry. Very cute story and well narrated by Susan Duerden.
    always enjoyable
I really enjoy listening to Duerden reading historical romances. She can do many different voices. The story was good and lite. If you want a easy listen to pass away some time this is a book for it. worth a credit or just to buy..
    Tremendous
I only hope this is the beginning of a new series, the characters are brilliant.
    Argh
I have a hard time believing that Elizabeth boil wrote this book.
Certainly not up to Elizabeth Boyle's standards and the narrator Susan Duerdan is very breathy and melodramatic I had difficulty finishing it and I'll make sure not to get her is a narrator in future books

She can't allow his love for her to destroy him...
When Nicholas Spencer, Earl of Grayson, returns to claim the woman he loves, Lady Josephine Knightly isn't willing to forgive him for abandoning her six years ago. But neither can she resist the man he has become.

Nicholas doesn't care. If Hell is where he must live to have her, then she must stand by his side in the fire.

    Confusing
I found this novel to be a bit confusing. The very beginning started out that way and the more I listened the more confused I got. I m glad that it was finally discovered why Jo was doing the things she was doing. Fear is a powerful motivator and especially fear for the one you love.
There were several times when I wanted to stop listening but I got through it and the ending was good. A different narrator may have made it better.
I was given this book by the author for an honest review by Audiobookblast, although I had already gotten the ebook.
    Lord Grayson's Bride
This was quite the thrilling story filled with romance, intrigue, and not to mention the steamy moments. It was very well written with nicely fleshed out characters, including a villain you'd love to hate. The entire time I was trying to figure out what the bug secret was and was surprised when it was finally revealed. I was very happy to see all turned it well in the end, and enjoyed the journey there. Who doesn't love a happy ending :)
    Loved it!
    Any additional comments?
Lord Nicholas Spencer returned to claim Lady Josephine Knightly as his bride. He had left for 6 long years and she loved him, but was doing everything in her power to have him call off the wedding. She even had him find her in a compromising position with another man. He did nothing but call the other man out to fight a duel. She had discovered a nasty secret that would destroy him. She must try to stop it. This is a wonderful story!
    Josephine is one Naughty girl!
Josephine Loves Nicholas Spencer (Lord Grayson) and she really knows how to push Nicholas' buttons. She was caught by Nicholas in a room during a party sitting on top of a man. She almost gave up her virginity to one of the snobs of society. The man has a title and is also someone that Nicholas' hates with a passion.
This part really had me confused until I reach the part where Josephine is being blackmailed. She really does love Lord Grayson, which is why she tries to push Nicholas away. She wants him to break the marriage contract. If you want to break a marriage contract make sure you sleep with your fiancés enemy.
This is one hot and steamy romance with just enough suspense, angst and action to make an interesting plot. I am not going to do a spoiler, but the ending was not easy for me to predict. I just wish this was a longer book.
The narrator was a little dull in the first few chapters. As the story progresses she gets more inflection in her voice and improves.

    Members Reviews:
    OK, not OK..
I didn't really like this book but I didn't dislike either. I wasn't crazy about Melody until much later on in the story but I liked Cole from the very beginning. Melody was such a coward around Jimmy that I kept thinking "Kill him! KILL HIM!!!!" But she just kept taking his beatings. I liked Annie, though. Jimmy called her a "mute gimp," because of her clubbed foot and the fact that she never spoke to him, but she was more than that. When Melody would have just let Steven die, Annie wouldn't hear of it.
So, here it is, the entire cast of characters: Cole, Melody, Annie, Steven, and Jimmy for a little while.
There was absolutely no sexual tension, no desire, no nothing in this book but then there was a certain kind of sex and a hand job between Cole and Melody, If you know what I mean. He didn't want to make love to her until after they told their family they were getting married. I thought that was kind of stupid, but that's just me.
As to the narration: Cam Drynan was just OK for me. He didn't read with much emotion, the women's voices need serious work, but Steven and Cole's voices were perfect. This is Cam Drynan's ONLY narration so there's nothing to compare any other readings with.

A wonderful story of heartbreak, hope and love in WWI
Fabulous Marguerite Kaye! Wonderful, moving, beautiful, sensual, romantic, poignant and real.
This was a complete departure for me as I rarely read books of this period, and any I have were many years ago, so I really did start them (3 stories in one book) with a completely open mind and very little knowledge of the time. I have watched documentaries and been interested, as of course this was a terrible time for our ancestors, but have never truly considered the effect these dreadful times must have had, not only on the participants, but also on their loved ones. Ms. Kaye has shown in her usual insightful way, how this has changed us all, life could never be the same for anyone again. Class barriers crumbled, 'the old ways', stuck in the dark ages, gone for ever, and for the good of all. Out of something so bad, emerged the society and opportunities we all....especially women....take for granted now.
The three stories are all linked to one Scottish family and their ancestral home. The Laird and his wife have 3 children, Robbie, Flora and Alex. Each of these 3 siblings go off to WWI in one way or another. Glen Massan, which has been the ancestral home of the Lairds and their offspring in this beautiful, remote part of Scotland for centuries, will never be the same.
The first story is Flora's, the middle sibling. Corporal Geraint Cassell, working class, ex Welsh miner and son of a miner, arrives to change Glen Massan forever, the castle has been requisitioned by the army for the war effort. Geraint is prickly and arrogant, proud of his socialist views but he is also a man with a secret. He has no respect for the upper classes and shows it, although he admires the tall, elegant, feisty redhead. Flora, it has been decided, will work with the Corporal to dismantle her home, lock away its treasures and ready it for its new purpose. Despite this onerous task, Flora is pragmatic and determines to work with the disturbingly attractive Geraint, to do the job allotted to her in as professional a manner as possible. The difference in their stations is a barrier between them from the beginning, two people from opposite sides of the fence, but the attraction between them is undeniable. Soon, thrown together by the job they must do, that attraction leaps over the fence and the outcome is sizzling. It is Geraint who makes Flora see that she is worth so much more than the expectations of her class and station, waiting around for the 'right' husband. It is here we first see Ms.

    Fabulous!
Sophie Jordan has seriously raised my expectations in the realm of what a good historical romance should be. Her talent makes many others pale in comparison. With her extrordinary way of crafting a story full of vibrant characters and real emotion she manages to raise the bar in what I look for when shopping my favorite genre at Audible,
NARRATOR: Carmen Rose enhances the story with her perfectly delivered performance. I cannot think of a single thing she could have done better!
    CREDITWORTHLY? Absolutely .
HEAT FACTOR : steamy with a tendency to boil over.
    Best Sophie Jordan Novel Yet
So this is my favorite book in the series so far. I absolutely love the story. I liked the fact that the characters have a back story which we begin getting hints from in the other beginning books, thus allowing the reader to get tibits from an early stage, and then once their story is told, it makes for a very satisfying ending. Aurelia and Max have awesome chemistry and yet complex emotions for one another. Once he gets his head out of his ass and she gets past her hurt, they begin to see how well they get along and how right they are for each other. If u liked " One Night with You" you will love this one.
Not as good as I expected it to be.
I got this book after reading some other reviews. Because of those I expected this to be a great story. Well, it didn't touch me like it seemed to do some others. The story was slow moving and seemed to be searching for the "real" story to begin. I don't know if it was the performance or the writing, but it never grabbed ahold of me and never made me care for any of the main characters. I have other books by Sophie Jordan and this one left me feeling let down. There was no real feeling, ( or I just never felt it), between these two to make me care how they got to their HEA. I was not over joyed when they finally came together because, first...he never really wanted to be married or in love with her, and second...their love/hate friendship never seemed to have a real chance to gel to make them truly feel like a couple who was in love with each other. Like I said, this is my opinion, but I just felt like the story was thrown together to bring to press. I say find a better use of your credit unless you are a die hard fan of Ms. Jordan.
    Perfection
Would you listen to All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue again? Why?
I was half way through this novel and could not wait for the end so that I could start it again.

not perfect but still a good listen
This story almost had a kinda berzerker feel but it didn't quite go there. I liked the story a lot. i do hate when a heroine is forced to marry someone other than the hero.
I actually listened to book 2 first and then double backed for book 1. The two books don't have anything in common so i didn't feel lost going to book 2 first. I"ll definitely look for book 3. this is a really interesting and good series.

Forced to stalk the shadows at night, Ronan becomes a prisoner of illness, fear, and memories. Fearing for his life, his brother summons a healer whose reputation borders on that of a miracle worker, but she comes from the land of the Sassenach, the very people who tried to destroy Ronan.

    Intriguing plot tenderly wrought
    Any additional comments?
The author, Kathryn Loch, drops you into a scene leaving you gasping with feelings of total loss. She certainly held my attention from that first scene to the end of this lovely listen.
This is a story where friends hold true even when grave mental changes pull the friendship so taut, it could easily snap. Laird MacGrigor, Ronan, goes through terrible internal pain with flashbacks of his time tortured by the Sassenach. He feels hes losing his mind and with it his soul. He rather suffer than try to get helpfor fear the physicians will think him possessed. He has had moments of being lost, but worsened after this time of torture. When the heroine, Lia, a Sassenach, travels far to come to his aid, he wants her sent back. How dare his friends bring a Sassenach to his castle?
But beautiful Lia is special, well versed in the healing arts, with a compassionate manner which encourages the clan MacGrigor to trust her. She is a gem inside and out, nor does she become involved in the politics of the area. She is pure of heart, full of compassionate for the injured and in need. She learned all she knew from a very wise old woman who couldnt travel such a distance to care for the Laird.
However much Ronan didnt want to admire and respect Lia, he came to understand she was sincere in her aid to him and to his villagers, some who were dying from a mysterious condition. With this understanding came respect, admiration and the delightful passionate scenes based on a sincere feeling for the other I enjoy in a read/listen.
I like stories with an intriguing plot complete with love and passion. Where differences with seemingly insurmountable walls, but gradually dissolve, crumbling inches at a time until they are but ash. Author Ms. Loch has written a highland story with memorable characters and compelling plot where people hold grudges and paint all known enemies with the same stroke of hatred and prejudice.
Narrator Brian J. Gill was a pleasure listening to.

Helena was captured by the Danes and sold as a slave to a Norseman Chieftain named Hakan. She was a feisty clever woman and thought he couldn't speak Frankish, so she insulted him in her own language. She was a challenge to him and soon melted his heart. This is a sweet story well written with interesting historical detail. When I closed my eyes to listen to the great narration, I was transported right there with them at every level. They both had strength, honor and thought of others above their own comfort. I loved this heart warming story.

I am glad I did, it is a pleasure to listen to Mr. Wright's voice, the various characters' voices, emotions are well portrayed. I loved Hakan, a Viking warrior with a gentle heart. He saves Helena by buying her from the Danes, but she is set on returning home. She gets her wish, but once there, she wants Hakan. She is portrayed as a smart, strong woman throughout the story, but with this change of heart at the last minute after putting Hakan thru all that heartbreak, I am not sure she deserves him. But she makes Hakan happy, so there is a HEA for them. The author painted a good image of the life in that era.
