it made me keep reading to find out if the girl gets the guy and it happen and I love stories like that.

Lacked something but not sure what

It was a very heart warming story but it could of been longer. She could of gone in on how their relationship did and how they kids did. Also would of liked to know how the brother made out.

A great read!

The Rebound Guy by Fiona Harper: Kelly Bradford has had more than her fair share of hardships. After a diagnosis of cancer, her husband leaves her to deal with it - along with their two young sons. (I know, there aren't enough dirty names to throw at this guy). She is coming out the other side, with her cancer in remission and seeing her brother Daniel find the love of his life. It's enough to give her hope that her life can be more.

Jason Knight has passions. Passions for his groundbreaking shoe design, for the women that surround him like satellites, and for making his father see that he can do something right. He may feel passionate about those things, but he certainly doesn't show it. Okay, he might show the women a little heat, but only temporary. He can't help it if they want more than he can offer. It's a shame that he can't keep a Personal Assistant. It's not his fault that he falls into relationships with them and they get hurt. He's as up-front as he can be, although he knows it's not exactly the healthiest of patterns.

Jason's HR lady is at her wit's end. How can she keep dealing with all of the fallout from his womanizing? Then Kelly's complaint lands on her desk. She's a temp at Aspire sports and she's been shuffled from one position to another. Mostly because she's too outspoken for her own good, but this last time was different. She was *literally* chased around her desk by her boss, and after saying no several times, she stapled his tie to the desk. Instead of letting her go, it's decided that she might just be the antidote to the problems that Jason perpetuates.

Kelly is adamant - no men. She's been burned enough thank you, and Jason is no exception. Even if she *wants* to flirt back, she's not going to. He's incessant, and she's firm - Jason kinda digs that. Then when Kelly gives him the blunt truth that he needs to hear, he realizes there's more to this PA than he ever expected. The overt flirting stops, and he actually gets the proposal he's been working on for months submitted to his dream client. It's a shame that he's turned down, but Kelly doesn't think he should give up.

A last-ditch effort is made, but it means taking a trip to New York to meet with the man in person. But Jason can't do it alone. Kelly keeps him buoyed and hopeful, and she always knows what to say - blunt as it may be.

A sweet ending to a love story

Aditi has done it again!

This beautiful heart rendering love story brings in innocent love and ways to capture the heart of that little soul. The ending was touching and alluring.

Awkward

If I think a book is lower rating than 3 stars I usually won't do a review but this is one of the times I am reviewing.

This is the story of Rani, an East Indian woman born and raised in the USA, and Carlos, a Panamanian man who now lives in Miami. They meet on a cruise ship where Carlos works as the entertainment director. In this case Rani has agreed to volunteer for a dance number. However she feels uncomfortable and Carlos tells her to just do it.

Rani is a paying customer on a cruise ship. She doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do. She can say screw you and walk off if she's really offended by what's she's been asked to do in a volunteer capacity.

She does the offending dance anyway (can you say no backbone?) and sees Carlos on the ship a couple more times and decides she hates his guts. And yes, those were the words used.

They decide to hook up anyway seeing as how they both live in Miami. For a university educated woman of 30 Rani is very immature and has this weird relationship with her parents who own a restaurant. She invites Carlos for dinner with her parents at their restaurant and during the meal Rani's father says my daughter isn't going to marry anyone who's not Indian. In other words Carlos, your skin color is wrong. It was just one of many awkward moments that happened in this book, that the father just comes out of nowhere and says it. The first time he meets the guy? And why is Rani allowing her parents to dictate who she can date or marry anyway?

Rani travels to Panama to meet Carlos' son and mother. They come back to Miami. They do this, that and the other. Basically all the reader does is follow them around and their lives just aren't that exciting.

The book has a good concept - an interracial romance - but it was plagued with juvenile writing and awkward conversations and awkward scenes. The book was not formatted well and sentences had extra words in them or missing words which just added to the overall awkwardness of this novel. The conversations were overly formal. "Okay I am hungry now." "Come, I will help you." "How come you are not buying much?" "I am not sure about that but I will think about." And so forth every time someone opened their mouth, and unfortunately this book was mostly dialogue driven. Using contractions would have made the conversations more comfortable to read.

The novel jumped all over the place and the author does not have a grasp of "show, don't tell".

Yes ... Her male voices and accents were very annoying ... Maybe it is just me., but parts were painful to listen to.

This was a very entertaining listen! The story is generally fast paced making you want to hear what's coming next. Narrator also does the different accents well which only serves to make the story more interesting. The chapters are generally short making it convenient to stop when you're busy or pressed for time. I gave the story 4 stars only because it seems a little wordy here and there but overall I really enjoyed listening to this one! Would definitely recommend it.

I loved very nearly everything about this book. It pulled me in from the first page. I could identify with the characters and felt for them. I found myself crying at their pain and being joyus when things worked out for them. The only thing that I didn't like about it was how Jackson treated Maggie in the beginning . It made me so mad. In the end tho he redeemed himself. This book is worth any price asked for it. I know I'll be reading it again, probably many times. Good job to the author. She's definitely on my list of favorites.

Great Love Story

Good storyline with 2 great main characters. I love how you felt the emotion and raw chemistry between Maggie and Jackson. I loved Jackson!!!! Great book, will definitely read more from this author.

Not what I was expecting

The title of this story was a bit misleading. I was expecting it to be more traditional "fairy tale" type plot.

Reflections on a life.

Let me see if I can verbalize my feelings about this book.

Thank you Mark for such a marvelous read and thank you David Rollins for your expert reading of it.

Such a topic is never a welcome one. You allowed me to reflect on my feelings and they haven't changed. I adored the book and only have one reason to make it a 4 star instead of a 5 star read. You didn't need the sex the book was substantial without it.

Because Mark made this a free book I moved it to "read next" and hoped it was good. It was!! So glad I read it.

Better with or without her?

This book will leave you thinking. Is he better off with or without her. She is using him, but does it matter if he's happy and in love. If you're life opens up and now you have a purpose, a plan, does that make it all worth while. But when she's gone again, would he have been better off if she had never come back into his life. You'll need to decide for yourself.

It took me to difficult places

A difficult, sometimes disturbing, dark, uncomfortable and ultimately heartbreaking and excellent read. Quite an accomplishment - kudos to Mr. Kaplan!

A Compelling Novel

The image that introduces this compelling novel is that of a spider devouring a fly. The twist: the fly--Ruskin-- has deliberately buzzed into Elaine's web. A spider-loving fly! Another twist on the come-into-my parlor victim-prey cliché: the spider turns out to be pathetically self-destructive.

It's a tribute to Kaplan's talent that with such grim subject matter and obsessively self-focused protagonists he is able to generate page-turning suspense. Some readers will even find dark humor in the spectacle of this bumbling fat man--masochistic sap or saint?--taking prat-falls of his own devising; dark humor too in the long catalogue of Elaine's attempts, chemical and metaphysical, to stave off psychosis. The narrative is propelled by an efficient style, a keen ear for dialogue, an ability to make situations ring true. The scenes of the wedding preparations are brilliantly brought off, building up to an ambiguous climax that echoes in the reader's mind long after: is Ruskin's final act one of mercy or of selfish deliverance from an unbearable situation? A Thousand Beauties stands up remarkably well to the rude test of a reread, which, like most books I review, is what it got from me.

Real people, Real Problems and Real Solutions

At first glance, Paige Andrews' approach to celebrity writer and celebrated womanizer Lon Bartlett is reminiscent of a child's first day at the beach, a child who runs down to the incoming waves only to run back to the safety of the dunes beyond the water's reach, and then again, and then again. Indeed, she desperately wants her evolving relationship to be as spontaneous and carefree as first love.

But in looking closer, as both lovers and mad men are apt to do, Lon sees that behind Paige's engaging smile lie painful memories of man named Hal who raped her and all but took away her ability to get close to anyone again. Lon's best intentions trigger Paige's worst fears.

"Bartlett's Rule" is an easy-to-read novel about difficult-to-resolve issues for rape survivors and the prospective significant others in their lives. For Paige and Lon, sorting out the boundaries of trust and the limits of patience is a treacherous undertaking because they are very much in the public eye and because Hal's arrogant needs are not yet satisfied.

Ms. Cordero skillfully tackles this topic as she poignantly tells the story of their journey to heal and develop a relationship based on strong reliance.

"Bartlett's Rule" is more than a love story; it relates a valuable lesson for both men and women.

Got a Refund

Let me start off by saying that I had never heard of this author until I saw her name tagged 16 times for Lora Leigh's "Wild Card". I did not find her writing to be anywhere close to the calibre of LL's 5-star books. This kindle book had formatting issues and was in serious need of a good editing.

I love a good hostage themed hea book. In this story the hostage theme is how the Ryan and Deanna meet but the hostage story line ends early.

SPOILER **** SPOILER ****

While Deanna is being held captive she has consensual sex with Ryan, who is actually undercover FBI. She becomes pregnant and the story then begins. I just couldn't get into the story. I wanted it to be a lot better.
