Which Murderer?

In Episode 40 Gemma and Holly celebrate the podcast being a full term baby by discussing murders surrounding worst fears, in this case Gemma's. Drowning. Gemma covers Ryan Widmer who was not super fast at tubby time rescue and Holly chats through Dennis Nilsen who had storage space challenges. This week the girls tell off a naughty jury, Holly thinks everyone might be a swinger, Gemma has strong feelings about dead body funerals involving children and the girls are probably both psychologists now based on their judgy natures.

In Episode 39 Holly and Gemma discuss murders on moving vehicles….of various public transportation varieties. Gemma covers the train loving Franz Muller (who we don't think has a yogurt connection) and Holly chats through the bus taking Vince Li. Important to note that Holly is violently opposed to public transportation and is not in the least surprised it has led to many deaths. This week the girls do not understand 19th century first aid, Holly deletes an entire Canadian province (sorry Saskatchewan), Gemma alerted everyone to a scientific mystery that will have you all holding your noses and Holly admits not for the first time screaming claim to a murderer at Gemma's face.

In Episode 38 Gemma and Holly talk about some Russian murderers who targeted the elderly and were probably almost definitely soul mates, Irina Viktorovna Gaidamachuk and Maxim Petrov. This week the girls decide that English is the only language they will attempt to speak occasionally, they might actually be accidental witches and they consider building a serial killer tinder when they discover they've found murdering soul mates.

In Episode 37 Gemma and Holly discuss the surprising stories of elderly people who commit murder. Gemma covers the oldest couple put on death row for murder, Ray and Faye Copeland, while Holly discusses the tragic case of 100 year old Michael Juskin. This week the girls go back to an earlier episode to figure out why listeners are yelling at them, talk about the relative temperature of soup (a lot), Gemma decides she doesn't want Producer Craig to kill her with an ax, and Holly clarifies which bullet Gemma would not want to be shot with. For the sake of her face.

Episode 36 is a special 2 parter focussing on Assassinations! Part 1 is Gemma discussing the famous JFK killing and Holly talks about Ghandi’s shooting in Part 2\. Both girls have slightly personal aspect to each case, they debate the tackiness of some memorial sites, and Holly nearly mixes up Ghandi with another peace loving man. We also realise just how cursed/unfortunate the Kennedy clan was. The ladies choose at the end, how they would have rather been assassinated, and make a fairly easy decision this week. 

Production, recording and post-production completed by Craig who now literally collapses on to the floor while we record. We think it’s because our knowledge and charms are so overwhelming, he just can’t keep upright. 

Editing this week was completed by Gemma, but it’s taken it out of her so she can’t think of a witty comment to put in this sentence.

This week the girls record in daylight hours and it doesn’t seem to help, Holly finally follows legal advice, Gemma helps out with words Holly can’t say, Gemma talks about an enraging male victim and both girls have strong views on their choices.

The 34th episode focuses on Signature Killers, Gemma covers Albert DeSalvo which Holly is super excited about, and Holly discusses Charles Albright (spoiler alert, he’s a fan of pretty eyes). Holly struggles to talk at times due to candy eating, but that of course takes priority. Gemma tries her hand at reciting poetry, and Holly knows more about Gemma’s case than she does. Gemma thinks that stealing a hammer deserves 2 years in jail and both ladies invent facts about someone’s post-conviction decisions.

In episode 33, Gemma and Holly discuss Legal Murders. Wait, is there such a thing? Listen to Gemma and Holly realise that they may have got the entire subject wrong but go with it anyway. Holly discusses a murderer with perhaps the best name ever, Levi Boone Helm who seems to have been born bad and Gemma covers killer Hamida Djandoubi, the charming abuser who lived in Paris. Both murderers were sentenced and put to death for their crimes and the ladies debate which way they would have rather been executed.

Holly covers a real charmer from ye oldie times named Gesche Gottfried and Gemma talks about Murderer Reiner Sturm who went to sailing school. Which Holly did not know was an actual thing. Minds were blown. Gemma explains what a pimp uniform is, Holly finds out about poorly named British foods, Gemma is denied story time, Holly swears off due diligence and Gemma explains what a merkin is. Google it. Not at work.
