  • S1E66: Friendships After Having Kids
On this week's episode, Cindy and Adam discuss how friendships change after having kids.
They compare the dynamics of their friendships with fellow parents to those that do not have children. They touch on the decision making process of going certain places, the environments they choose to have their children around and avoid, and how this impacts certain long-standing and newly formed friendships.
They close out the show reviewing the instagram polls regarding such changes and where other people stand with their experiences.

  • S1E65: Patriotism
On this week's episode, Cindy and Adam are a little late with their discussion on the 4th of July, but they make up for it by covering the topic of patriotism.
They touch on the recent discovery of mass graves of indigenous people in Canada and this affected Adam's traditional celebration of Canada Day (even though he's American).
They then switch to how they define patriotism and how the term has taken on a new meaning in recent years. They discuss how they have celebrated Independence Day in the past and how they view commercial acts of patriotism vs. more meaningful and productive ones that extend beyond the holiday celebrations.

  • S1E63: The Terrible Twos
After a bit of a hiatus and celebrating their daughter's 3rd birthday, Cindy and Adam return to reflect on the dreaded "Terrible Twos."
They discuss some of the things they have learned while raising a toddler during a pandemic, the types of shifts she made from infancy to toddlerhood, and some of the strategies they have each used to approach the challenges of this particular age.
They then take to the Instagram polls to find out what our listeners think are the best and hardest parts of raising a two year old and how it compares to the challenges of the newborn phase.

  • S1E62: Unrealistic Beauty Standards
Cindy and Adam discuss the unrealistic beauty standards that are portrayed on various social media platforms and how they are influencing young adults (mainly young women) to look a way that is unattainable and often times harmful.
They touch on how this phenomenon isn't necessarily new, but the dawn of social media platforms such as Instagram have made it a more egregious issue to tame. They also discuss how to approach it as parents in order to instill a sense of confidence in young children that is independent of how they look.
They then shift gears to how such beauty standards may not be applicable to young males, as they are instead influenced by ideologies that may become harmful if the message is being sent by the wrong people.

  • S1E61: Our Favorite Musical Artists
Cindy and Adam take a break from the heavy topics and shift to a discussion about their favorite musical artists and genres.
They touch on the music that influenced them during their youth and whether or not their respective musical interests maintained throughout the course of their lives.
They then touch on how the music they listen to shaped the people they have become and where they have found commonality despite their vastly different musical tastes.

  • S1E60: Shedding Our Masks: Too Soon?
Cindy and Adam discuss the recent recommendation by the CDC that fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks in most settings.
They talk about their initial reactions, frustrations with the CDC's messaging (or lack thereof), their assumption that those that are not vaccinated will claim to be as a result, and the timing of the recommendation itself.
They then shift to their concerns regarding the effect that this may have on parents and their unvaccinated children, and outline their approach to balancing the risk of exposure with the benefits of transitioning back to normalcy with their child.

  • S1E59: Feminism: Scratching the Surface
Cindy and Adam celebrate Mother's Day and her birthday by having a (very) surface level discussion on feminism.
They start by discussing their interpretations of feminism and how forms of media seem to sensationalize and misrepresent what it stands for.
They discuss gender inequality and some of the ways it permeates throughout our society, using examples such as - the workplace and professional sports. After examining some of these complexities, Adam is left to reconsider whether or not he describes himself as a feminist.
They also share the results of the gender reveal for their second child.

  • S1E58: Gender Reveals
In the week leading up to the gender reveal of their second child, Cindy and Adam break down the complexities of these parties that have become popular in recent years.
They discuss some of the concerns around celebrating and emphasizing a child's gender before they are born, and whether or not they agree with such concerns.
They then shift gears for their plans to reveal the sex of their second child, as well as discuss some gender reveal ideas that have gone horribly wrong.
