Listen in as we talk about "Gym Life," "Lawyers & Loyalties," "Dating Men with Kids" and "Friends with All the Benefits"
We are talking the one, the only, the incredible, "LIVING SINGLE!" (And yes, you may read that in your best singing voice) This show gave so many things to so many people, including Permission. Permission to be an unapologetic, business-running, career-killing, fashion-styling, sweet summer-child'n black woman who was both independent but not alone. The relationships between these women appeared authentic on-screen, the humor kept us all wanting for more, and the writing gave its audiences doses of reality whether they were ready for it or not.
The POCcorn podcast reviews films created, directed and/or starring People of Color. Each show uses four questions to describe our thoughts on the film, plus one POCcorn moment we simply MUST discuss in detail.
In this episode, we discuss Turning Red and select the "My Friends are My Safe Space" scene as our POCcorn moment. This animation is yet another Pixar Therapy Session, but with boy bands and puberty mixed in. We felt truly seen as the hormonal, emotional, developing teenagers we were. And felt no truer "coming-of-age" animation could compare in regards to managing your emotions, family expectations, and celebrity crushes. Plus, the soundtrack is so addictive. "I've never met nobody like you!" Listen in!
Is Social Media ever the time or the place to air your dirty laundry? On this mini topic, we talk about the implications of putting your business out on the streets for public consumption. Consensus is we don't condone putting your business out there, but if you serve us tea, we gonna drink it!
We are reviewing "The Parent Test" episodes 3 & 4. Dissecting the tests presented to the families in the show, we imagine our own responses as parents to such challenges; and acknowledge that there is a bit to be learned from each parenting style.

In this episode, we discuss Everything Everywhere All at Once and select the "Multiverse Evelyn Scream" scene as our POCcorn moment. This film is exactly what its title implied. It transcended many film genres, and gave its audiences entertainment, emotion and closure. We felt seen in this film, as wives, daughters, mothers, and in Esther's case - as an immigrant. The story itself was enough to rake in awards, but the cast and imagery just made it that much more "chef's kiss." Listen in!
This mini episode is a fun insight into the WNTT hosts. We talk about our childhood celebrity crushes, which range from impossible to inappropriate LOL. And we end the episode talking about dance moves that had us in a chokehold back in the day.
Listen in as we talk "old flames," prideful friends, and "Club personas."
