Mitchell is officially back after his parental leave to preach our third Sunday in Lent. 

This week we continued to journey through the last 24 hours of Jesus' life, and specifically focused on the arrest of Jesus. Mitchell took us into the betrayal Jesus felt and invited us to consider the provocative nature of grace found in Mark 14:43-50. If grace is offered even for Judas what can we take from that? And in this season of immense grief, what can we learn from this passage?

Shamika Klassen joined Rev. Phil Dieke to discuss how she not only became a "Tech Chaplain," but launched techchaplain.com. They talk about communion, Lent, and other religious rituals that can (should?) take place in virtual spaces. They also talk about ethics in digital spaces and what role the church has to play in advocating for justice, even/especially digitally!

For our second Sunday in Lent, Phil took us to the Garden, specifically the Garden of Gethsemane. He spoke of his experiences in this garden when he traveled to the Holy Land and how olive oil press gives us insight into the immense pressure Jesus was facing. 

Phil invites us to consider the suffering of Jesus as Christ's solidarity with humanity. To live is to suffer, what do we do with that suffering, and is there meaning to be made from it.

Rebecca and Phil discuss the second Sunday in Lent, which took us to the Garden. Specifically the Garden of Gethsemane, but much of the theme for the day revolved around a garden, or gardening. They talk through the experience of the garden, questions that come with Mark's Gospel experience of Jesus in the garden, and how the liturgy invited us into a deep reflection of those questions.

Kam De Leon joined Rev. Phil Dieke to discuss a multitude of things. Kam, as a part of De Leon Provisions, fed over 2800 meals last week at the Convention Center during the winter storm in Dallas. They discuss the complexities of pull that off.
