If you’ve ever read the first page of the Book of Mormon, you’ve heard of the name ‘Nephi.’ He’s the first person introduced (by himself, in fact 😂) in first verse of the book! But who really was he? And why should you know his name?   

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church or LDS church) regards the Book of Mormon as sacred text, like the Bible. The Book of Mormon is called “Another Testament of Jesus Christ” because it does just that— testifies of Jesus and his coming to the Americas.
