Ari Aster followed up his masterpiece of horror, Hereditary, with something a little different, the folk horror film, Midsommar. This movie, while critically acclaimed, caused some debate and this week, your boys are keeping that discussion going. What was the first movie that made you cry? For Andy, he would say it’s the 1982 Science Fiction Family movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. In this Steven Spielberg directed movie (who is making his 3rd appearance on the show) we’re introduced to Elliot and his family as they try to get a stranded alien back home. While this movie is heartbreaking and heartwarming, the boys, of course, take a few detours while talking about the trauma this movie afflicted on Andy. For example, what is ET (if that is his real name)? Is he a mushroom? Is he high all the time? Why did he drink all those beers and did he do it intentionally to get Elliot psychically drunk? And where does this movie even take place - corn fields and redwoods side by side?!? The boys are ready to dive into these questions and more!
