In this weird, uniquely 90s film, we get to see Warwick Davis doing an insane job and bringing a ridiculous amount of life to a character that really doesn’t need it. But shockingly, not as wild as the acting choice of Mark Holton, who plays Ozzie Jones. Let’s just say, you can’t make an acting decision like this anymore. On the mean streets of New York City, hope is in short supply. Gangs of teens… sorry, ninja teens are running wild. Theft is everywhere and the crime seems to have no end in sight. Thankfully there’s 4 teenagers, who happen to know martial arts, that are also mutant turtles! They’re the heroes in a half-shell and they’re ready to stop these rambunctious teens. This is a movie that has deep nostalgia for Andy, but he needs to share some trauma that he discovered later in life thanks to this movie! At a time when horror was a huge part of his life, Eli Roth and his whole “thing” was forced upon Andy, Gabe, and the horror community as a whole. It’s our 50th episode and the stars have aligned for an incredibly special episode. Since the creation of this podcast, Andy and Gabe have wanted to talk about the movie Hereditary. The timing has never been right, but since the spooky season is upon us, the boys figure it’s time to lose our heads over this movie. Typically this podcast is all about the trauma of youth, but this week Andy and Gabe are ready to examine the 2018 Ari Aster directed horror masterpiece, Hereditary. The boys are here to applaud the amazing performances of all the actors in this movie, especially Toni Collette. Did she deserve to win all the Oscars? Welcome to October and prepare to get spooked! This week the boys are starting things off strong with Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. Sure, it’s not the most scary movie, but it is a nice and easy way to get into the season. With elements of comedy and horror, Demon Knight more than makes up for a lackluster cast and questionable dialogue. Andy is ready to present a trauma that only a friend’s older brother could provide. We’re talking nudity, friends. This movie made Andy look out for movies with a fresh perspective and objective. Beyond that, we get to revisit an awesome movie starring Billy Zane, William Sadler, and Jada Pinkett Smith (No Smith at the time, you know, how she prefers it). So strap in and take hearty swig of old blood and get ready for a night you hope you’ll live through.
