Who Spiked The Puns? episodes

  • Episode 56: Surf Ninja Turtles - With Wes from Via VHS

KWANTSU DUDES!!!! It's a battle of the '90s Ninjas with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) vs. Surf Ninjas (1993). If you don't know what either of these things are, you need to seriously consider your life choices. Fuzzy Dan teams up with Wes from VIA (or via) VHS to relive the definitively B-grade flicks that schlocked the 90s cinema landscape.

Special shout out to Pundit Lonny for suggesting this episode. This one comes with a super strong recommendation to watch the movies before listening because they are both freaking amazing. You can watch them on Youtube right now for zero dollars. You're welcome.

Keep those suggestions coming through as there are a bunch of exciting episodes coming up in the next month suggested by guests and Pundits alike. You can tweet/facebook/email through your ideas for a chance to theme an episode.

If you enjoyed listening to my boy Wes, please be sure to check him out at VIA (or via) VHS.

  • Episode 55: The Goondock Saints - With JayLostTheDay

Back by popular demand, Fuzzy and JayLostTheDay venture back down the rabbit hole with a look at two genuine indie cult classics. 2011's Goon and 1999's The Boondock Saints. It's a mad, mad, mad, mashup for the second episode of the year. Seann (with two 'n's apparently) William Scott vs. Sean (only one 'n' like a nnormal person) Patrick Flanery in a battle of the 3 name actors.

Have you drunk the coolaid for either of these films? Do they even hold up after repeat viewings? And which of these films is the most offensive? All of these questions, and everything else, will be addressed in this weeks episode.

Make sure you check out JayLostTheDay on @NowInTechPod as soon as humanly possible. He's a great friend of the show and a must listen for all podcast fans.

  • Episode 54: Gangs of New Jack City - With Donnie from More Gooder Than

Fuzzy starts off 2018 with a bang. Borrowing the talents of Donnie from best buddies, More Gooder Than, to dissect 2 vastly different views of New York City. It's the Martin Scorsese (intensive) labour of love, Gangs of New York vs. the aggressively 90's, gangsta hit, New Jack City. Because who better to talk about the Big Apple than two blokes who have spent a combined total of 2 days in New York. Only the best for my Pundits.

Check out Donnie, Corey and Braato over at the More Gooder Than Podcast. If you don't know them already, you're sure to quickly fall in love with them.

  • WSTP? Prohibition Edition

It's that magical time of the year again, when the sun is high in the sky, people are getting fat on Christmas hams and the WSTP? studios shut down due to lack of enthusiasm to record in stupidly hot conditions. Why would I be sitting indoors when there is a perfectly good pool outside and beer to be drunked?

Welcome back to another round of hot takes, and even hotter outtakes, in the wrap up of the magical year that was 2017. Check out some of the previously unreleased tapes, the special stock, from the pre-roll of the main show. It's a heady brew of conversations distilled and extracted from a variety of fabulous guests.

    Enjoy Irresponsibly.

  • Episode 53: BiLL & Ted's Executive Decision - With San Dimas School of Film

Strange things are afoot in the 3121.

This week we mash up the truly iconic, BiLL & Ted's Excellent Adventure, starring a super young Keanu Reeves and some other guy, with the truly mid-90s action flick, Executive Decision, starring (briefly) Steven Seagull and a bunch of people whispering on a plane.

This episode called for some special support, experts in all things Bill and/or Ted, Fuzzy plays host to the local lads from the wonderfully whimsical, San Dimas School of Film. They also have more than a passing fancy for 90s action movies which is a big bonus.

  • Episode 52: Dirty Harry Potter - Podcasting PowerCouples Special

This week Fuzzy is joined by a plentiful panel of podcast pals, including; Dudi from Shaken Not Nerd, Podcasting guest professional - Mon, and Fuzzy's special lady person, Hannah.

The Panel dive headlong into a weird universe where handguns and magic combine in a shower of mystery, wonder and period-tolerable racism. Lucky we brought along full-time Pott-Heads, Dudi and Mon to guide us, because it is a twisted pathway when we mash together 1971s Dirty Harry and 2004s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the Twitter Poll to select the Harry Potter movie for this episode. Even though we watched the entire series regardless, it was nice to have some common ground to start from.

So pack your Marauders Map and all the .44 ammo you can stuff into your tweed jacket, this one is going to be pretty..... magical. (I'll show myself out)

  • Episode 50: National Treasure Island - With Netflix 'N Swill

In order to celebrate Episode 50 (CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE IT???), Fuzzy Dan completely forgets to check up on his episode numbers and makes absolutely zero mention of it during the episode.

Luckily, he had enough foresight to bring on two excellent guests in the form of Caleb and Dan (or is it Dan and Caleb) from PodFix Network buddy-cast, Netflix 'N Swill.

The rabbit hole knows no bounds as we quickly scurry off in search of tangents beyond comprehension. What should've been a sure-fire Nicolas Coppola rag-fest, could turn out to be anything but.

  • Episode 49: Splash Gordon - With Shampu

Yes..... welcome back to WSTP? It's all happening here. The tension, the crowd, the buzz, the excitement. It's another week and another All Star guest coming back, with our great podcasting buddy, Shampu. See The Grand Budapest Hostel for some of his other work.

This week, Fuzzy Dan and Shampu venture out into the unknown with two childhood classics. It's Splash, starring Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah (SCHWING!!!!) vs. Flash Gordon starring.... um.... that guy from Fiddler on the Roof.

Why, Why, WHY, DELILAH? Because we have to, Mr Tom Jones. We just have to.

  • Episode 48: Red Dawn of The Dead - With Picture This!

This week, professional chaos merchants, Nick and Lachlan (aka The Red Dragon) from Picture This! Podcast join Fuzzy on an exploration of two iconic movies. It's the Reagan-Era, Commie-Hatin', Gun tottin', Swayze Groovin' classic, Red Dawn vs. the only really good movie that Zack Snyder ever ripped off, Dawn of the Dead.

You might remember these guys from Episode 36: The Terminal Velocity, and the infamous 'Bone Town" and if you do recall that, you'll know what's in store this week. Nick is normally on his best behaviour, so he really lets loose when he gets the chance.

This week, we go off topic during the intro, make history with a ground breaking movie synopsis style, and break out the gags like they're 2 for $1. It's all happening here.

If you're picking up what the lads are putting down, head on over to their Facebook space or Omny site for a more structured taste of their madness.

If you like the Who Spiked The Puns? style, why not head on over to iTunes and give us some sort of rating. I mean, 5 stars is a start, but have you ever considered putting in an extra star in the comments? Surely we deserve it.
