Review - The Black Hole

After a long break, Paul is back on the podcast to join Phil in looking at The Black Hole from Big Finish. In this second Doctor story, featuring Frazer Hines as the Doctor and Jamie McCrimmon and Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield, Phil and Paul were swept away in this story of people who are not who they claim to be and what the pair of them consider to be an ingenious use of time travel to tie this audio story to The Two Doctors.

Random Who - Planet of The Dead

As Phil was ill with the lurgy last week and couldn't record the planned episode, he sat down with Scott to watch a random episode of Doctor Who and record a short podcast. And after using a highly technical method of random selection (bits of paper with numbers written on them, picked from a glass), they came up with Planet of The Dead and a surprise was in store.

Welcome The Second Doctor - The Power of The Daleks

Phil & Scott continue their series of looking at how good how each Doctor's inaugral stories were at introducing them to the waiting world, with The Power of the Daleks, starring Patrick Troughton. With this story being the very first time a regenerated Doctor appeared on screen, was this story full Daleks, double and triple crosses successful in assuring fans that Doctor Who was alive and well?

And in the news, we say a sad goodbye to Christopher Benjamin, the man who gave us Henry Gordon Jago.

Review - Joy to The World

In their last podcast of 2024, the Who's He? team look at this years Doctor Who Christmas Special, Joy to The World, starring Ncuti Gatwa. With Scott stepping in at late notice to replace Paul who was trapped in a temporal nexus (or Zoom not working properly), he joins a still grumpy Phil in looking at this Steven Moffat story that features a time hotel, dinosaurs and a one shot companion in the form of Nicola Coughlans Joy. But was she really the companion and why did Phil think this story features one of the most tone deaf plot devices he's seen in a Christmas Special?

We wish all our listeners a Happy New Year and we will see you in 2025!

The War Games - IN COLOUR!

In a festive episode, Scott and Phil look at The War Games - In Colour starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor. In this colourised, heavily edited and enhanced edition of Patrick Troughtons final story, we get to see the second Doctor regenerate into the third and for some reason, confirmation that the War Chief is really the Master.

Phil goes into full on Scrooge mode as the pair of them discuss the highs and lows of another classic Doctor Who story being adapted for a modern audience. Whatever that means.

Also, we get an early Christmas present in the form of Jon Pertwee's first season getting the The Collection treatment on bluray, which puts the festive spirit into Phil.

We wish all our listeners a very merry Christmas!!
