The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has become a nationally known fundraising machine and is enjoying its share of statewide successes since Ben Wikler took over as chair six years ago. With Wikler stepping down, the next “WisDems” leader for 2026 has to maintain momentum, defend the governor’s post, and turn Donald Trump’s miscues into a path toward taking majorities in the Assembly and Senate.
