November is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Canada. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been an alarming increase in domestic violence reports all across the globe. Job losses and social isolation have added fuel to the fire and because of the lockdowns, victims haven't been able to get away from their abusers. We wanted to bring to your attention the case of Cortney Lake who had just broken free from an abusive relationship. Her bright future was on the horizon until it was taken away from her in June 2017. Cortney is believed to be murdered and her remains are still missing.
