We discuss how heroes in the worlds of the various tabletop games we work in translate into the literary scene - as well as how we create original characters and balance them working with and against named characters. From games like Kings of War that is army-based to Infinity that is squad-based, we look at how we try to make our protagonists stand out in any of these franchises. We also look at how we want to sow the desire in readers to want to pick up and buy the characters and armies these heroes represent, and what goes into accurately translating their in-game stats to literature - without bashing the reader over the head with in-game mechanics.
