Mark and Brandon discuss one of the fundamental pieces of any story - dialogue. How the characters speak, the way the author crafts a character's tone and dialect, and the way characters interact with others are all massive attributes of characterization. When done right, you get a rounded, fully-fleshed out character; but when flawed or there isn't enough, the reader can get drawn out of what they're reading.
