  • The Games We Play

Join us this week as we chat all about Board Games! Those we grew up with, those we love, those we hate, and why we think board games are such a wonderful way to assert dominance over friends and family, prove that you're better than other people, and leave those losers out in the dust...
...or if you're playing with Robert; as he always says "I'm competitive... I just don't care who wins!" What are some of your favorite games? Are these some that we've missed that we MUST try? Let us know!

  • And Just Like That...

Sex and the City is BACK, and Nomi has quite a bit to say. Actually, as a newer fan of the show, it seems like Robert has even MORE to say, including why Carrie, as such a Self-Destructive character, belongs with Burger. Not really, but join us as we discuss the ins and outs of why we enjoy the series and why we are so excited about this new chapter in the Sex and the City story! Please note there are SPOILERS in this episode, so if you haven't watched the first few episodes of the new show, don't listen to us until you have!

  • Home for the Holidays

One Holiday down, two to go... the Season continues to ramp up and Robert and Nomi discuss what Thanksgiving and Christmas time has meant to them, how the Holidays can be difficult for many people, and what can be done to help mediate the unrealistic expectations and oft-disregarded boundaries during this time of year.
Robert also mentions the amazing book that has been changing his life one day, one human interaction at a time:

    A GUIDE TO RECLAIMING YOURSELF
    by NEDRA GLOVER TAWWAB
"Healthy boundaries. We all know we should have them–in order to achieve work/life balance, cope with toxic people, and enjoy rewarding relationships with partners, friends, and family. But what do “healthy boundaries” really mean–and how can we successfully express our needs, say “no,” and be assertive without offending others?"

  • Going a Little Psycho

Nomi & Robert chat about how perfectly picturesque Halloween was this year, the traditions (new and old) that got them in the mood this year. Then we take a deep dive into the Psycho film series; why we love it, why it's simultaneously so terrifying and beautiful, and why we think it continues to stand the test of time so many decades later.

  • To Meat or Not to Meat?

Robert & Nomi talk about their recent decision to adjust their diet from Vegetarian to Omnivorous after 4 years! Maybe this doesn't sound very interesting on the surface, but there's more to it than you think!
Though this decision was not made lightly. Take a listen to find out more about why the change, what potential moral and humane implications we struggled with in making these choices, and our experiences through these shifts from going Vegan, to Vegetarian, to back to eating meat again.

  • Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

In Episode 26 Nomi Moore's got a lot to say about the state of the Beauty industry, specifically elective cosmetic procedures; especially on the heels of Linda Evangelista's unfortunate cold-sculpting gone wrong.
How much pressure does society really place on us? Are magazines and social media expected to take responsibility for our own perception and reality? And at what point do we stop making excuses, and no longer villainize the pursuit of beauty and self-expression?

  • It's Litigious to be MeeeE-E-E!

It's Episode 25, and guess who Nomi Moore and Robert Fisher are talking about once again?
With the latest news that Erika Jayne's contract has been renewed with Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Brentwood-Adjacent, High-Income Los Angeles Suburbs" we're still struggling with the fact that people like this are being rewarded for their bad behavior, or at the very least profiting off of the TRUE victims' suffering over an intentionally extended period of time.
This leads our chat into mindfulness, self-awareness, empathy, and all of the other things that, these people who are held in such high regard are clearly unable to convey.

  • Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman...

In Episode 24, Nomi Moore and Robert Fisher discuss the finer nuances of the titular film franchise, specifically the original from 1992, and its 2021 follow-up.

It's one thing to watch these films thinking "here's a scary movie, so it better scare me". However, when stories like these speak so eloquently to social injustices, systemic racism, and true human horror in such a sophisticated and viscerally affecting way, we hope that movie-goers take more than what is at face value and learn a bit about themselves and what part they play in the World around them. What are your thoughts on films like this, Us, and Get Out?

  • Here We Go Again!

Welcome Back to Season Two! In Episode 23, Nomi Moore and Robert Fisher are back to talk about those debaucherous Bravo Housewives and their latest shananegans.

With ladies like Jen Shah and Erika Jayne, at what point are reality TV stars going to be held accountable for their actions? When do we stop rewarding people for their bad behavior for the sake of "entertainment"? And who is holding Bravo and Andy Choen accountable for their lack of accountability? It's a loaded on, folks...
