When your mate loses his job it's a downturn, when you lose your's, its a recession. And you know what, the world's central bankers will not juts be cheering you losing your job, they'll be causing it. Economic policy all over the world is now aimed and bringing about a recession to bring down inflation. What this means in plain English is job losses, leading to widespread unemployment. Tighten your belt.
