Top of the mornin’ to you! It´s time to put on a green top hat and get all the Irish clichés out of the closet to celebrate the 4th drunkest holiday of the year: Saint Patrick´s day! What started as a religious date in honor of the man credited with getting rid of all of the non-existent snakes of Ireland in the 4th century is now a major event on the international party calendar. Every year on the 4th of March an estimated 13 million pints of beer are enjoyed worldwide, all of them in honor of this mysterious British (!) Christian missionary. That´s not all, parades are held all over the world to honor Ireland´s culture and its people. But what is the holiday really about, you ask? It´s not because you´re not in India that you can´t celebrate Diwali! The welcoming Indian community of Berlin got together in the city to celebrate the festival of lights in style, even if away from home. We, of course, couldn´t miss out on this action! There was bright lights shinning everywhere, the most lively music playing all day long, people on their feet dancing non stop, and don´t let us get started on the food. Plus, the people visiting the festival were the sweetest, and took the time to share with us knowledge about the holiday, how to celebrate it, and what is the true meaning of Diwali.
