Woodson to honor black achievements, elevate black stories, and promote black recognition and much needed respect in the U.S of A. after centuries of slavery and oppression, the month of February is now internationally known as "Black history month", even if only officially observed by The U.S. and Canada (and the U.K. in another month, but that's another story).
