Our world is groaning. Suffering, disease, and natural disasters constantly capture the headlines and intrude into our own lives. And it makes people wonder, “why? Why is there so much death and suffering in our world?”

Well, the answers are in Genesis. God created a perfect world but then we sinned. Our sin broke creation, it was no longer “very good.” It’s our sin that brought death, suffering, and disease into the world.

But it’s not all bad news. The good news is Jesus came and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and someday he will return and make a new heavens and a new earth where death will be no more.
