Earlier this year a prominent young atheist was filmed asking a group of Christians a version of “if there’s a good God, why is there so much death and suffering?” You see, sadly most of the Christians couldn’t answer.
But there are answers when we start with God’s Word. God’s original creation was “very good,” there was no death or suffering. But the first people rebelled against God and the penalty was death. Death and suffering aren’t God’s fault. It’s ours because of sin.
But God himself took our penalty for us when he died on the cross in our place. Then he rose from the dead and now offers eternal life to all who will believe.
