In the Gospel of Matthew 5:17–19, Jesus makes it clear that Scripture is not optional or outdated but fulfilled in him and meant to form the lives of his followers. As we resist distraction and neglect, we’re invited to meet the living God in his Word—and to practice what we read so it moves from page to life.
