What is stopping you from attaining inhuman amounts of knowledge? I ponder over this question a lot because it is similar to many I have encountered before. Our brain is one of the most powerful things in the universe, but why is it so hard to teach it? This weekend I have been perusing so much material over various amounts of topics and I took note of myself like I have not before. The only major barrier I encounter when trying to understand concepts is a physical barrier. I get tired, need to eat, back hurts, need to pee, feel jumpy, ect. My body seems to be regulating how much I can learn. I push through it and discover that I can comprehend and store unbelievable amounts. That and I believe that the reason advanced concepts are hard to understand is because there are chips in our base understanding. We unconsciously do not understand one detail of the concept and this detail is important when building upon it. I encourage you this week to build the base of your pyramid of understanding more and to push yourself to learn as much as you possibly can. I want you to analyze how your physical body reacts to you learning this much. Make sure to be healthy though: eat, exercise, and drink water. Keep pursuing the ultimate good.

Categories from sports to academics to extracurriculars, the devoted and driven will always come out on top. The last one to leave the weight room will almost always be the best in the end, and the efficient studier who manages their time well will certainly get an A. I believe in you. Make sure to do things right. Seek and ye shall find. I'm finally starting to feel my speaking skills come back and it feels amazing. More great things to come soon. Onwards and Upwards.

What is your goal? What drives you to be great or to never try? Over the summer I spent a week at K-State for the boys state legion and every night our counselor would guide us in meditation. One night the question stumped me. Is there such a thing as common sense or is it common perspective? My answer, they are the same. My counselor had this little blue book that he kept track of almost every impactful thing that was said to him or that he read. Even some experiences. I was the only one who got to read the book and it was amazing. It was so clearly outlined and taken care of, every word meant something. Sometimes it does feel like words are useless. But you should always try. He was definitely my favorite person that I met there. I encourage you to keep one of these books or notes because you will soon find a common pattern. I read back over mine occasionally and they highlight areas that are important to us that we may not know. They are also great for when you need a little inspiration of uplift of any kind. Keep fighting the good fight. Remember that there is always a silent majority.

Hey guys, today is a difficult subject to convey because it has to do with the grey line. One of my goals of this podcast is to better externalize my ideas and transmute them into reality. One of the ways that I do that, obviously, is by talking. Today's idea is absolute right and wrong. There are many obvious cases where that line is blurred and it is difficult to know what to do. I got the phrase different flavors of wrong when I was reading an article about love. There is a competent definition of what it is, but how to show it and instill it is a whole other story. There are many people who try different things that work out and don't work out. You could say they were right of wrong, but maybe they were all wrong and some were just closer than others to right. That is what I mean by different flavors of wrong. No matter how wrong or right you might be, are you going the right direction? I want you to ponder that. Wherever you are going, I hope you are at least trying to go the right way. If you're reading this, I already know you are. Way to be.

Hey guys, today's talk is on societal dilemmas affecting moral decisions. Much of it will come down to the principal of double effect. For example, was it wrong for Fr. Kapaun to steal food if the punishment was death for his bunkmates? Since the situation is oppressive, no (opinion). But what about where the line is muddy, where there is no black and white area? Healthcare is a commonplace argument because it argues commonwealth vs. commonwealth. It can hurt us more in the long run potentially to fund public healthcare but every person should be healthy and taken care of. Many of these questions arise in modern society because it is hard to take a side. One factor in how you were raised could determine what your response is. I enjoy the framework of many of these arguments and it is a great way to realize that we do have the gift of opportunity. Go make the world what you want it to be. There are too many good things out there for you to sit around and not take them. Go make the world a better place.

Today's episode is a highlight of one of the most informative conversations I've had in my life. I finally asked questions many people don't get the answer to, and unusual questions that occasionally pop into your head. It was 11 o clock and it was cool with a good chilly wind. I had always wanted to talk to a homeless man because I wanted to know what it is that they do. I had nowhere to be so I decided to tell a guy I would pay him to answer my questions. I spent the next two hours digging in to the life of Steve, and his experiences of life. I heard his life story about love, betrayal, reconstruction, and homelessness. I asked him literally any question that was in my mind, I was paying him for time. They think a lot. Homeless people have a lot of time on their hands and they are very philosophical. Unnaturally philosophical. I enjoyed almost every topic he told me about because it was decades of experience rolled into one, and he was the best storyteller I'd heard in a while (no doubt from practice). He likes the examination of anyone's thoughts and feelings. Not only does it bring you closer to nature, it brings you closer to yourself. It is easier to feel the humanity that everyone should feel when you understand your emotions, actions, behaviors, and the purpose and cause behind them. I commonly use introspection because it is a great way to evaluate how you are doing. It is very easy to learn your weaknesses and strengths. Do it often, it leads to discipline, awareness, and growth. Do not be scared to be with yourself, collaboration with yourself can lead to exponential results. It is a gateway to bettering one's mind and body. Challenge yourself and the way you think, that is my advice for today.
Is it possible to be marooned in your own community? One of the many eye-opening experiences I went through was working at a pizza place. Fast food is by no means a six figure salary. Many of the people who I worked with (new hires daily-weekly) were drug dealers, ex-convicts, and most of all, in poverty. When is it justified for a good man to come home to a place that is barely standing? I knew a man who was an honest, hardworking, virtuous man. He worked day and night to bring home a paycheck that was barely enough to fix a panel in the floor. I went there after he had car problems (I replaced his starter for him). It is upsetting to see impoverished people. The sight induces sadness, anxiety, depression, and sympathy. That isn't a learned response, it is natural, and it says something about how every human should have dignity. The roof nearly caving in and the television still had an antenna. Why does a good man live like this? I question whether I should be considered a good person when I commonly say, "you control the outcome." This guy lived with his parents and 2 others in that house. How I am to tell anyone that they should and will continue to live like that because they have chosen it? They did not know any better than the student who just graduated middle school. They are ignorant. They do not know that there is a better world out there because what they need to do is work for tomorrow's food and rent. It is gross to imagine, someone unable to achieve a better status in their life because they have to worry only about that instant, and be in that instant for all of their life. To be worked to the bone day in and out till they die. I pray for them. I hope that they find the right way to a better life. One where they can enjoy a bigger house, a more unified family, healthy food, and an understanding of how to think. I encourage you while you listen to think about the opportunities that are presented to you. What are you doing with them? Every penny really does count. Be the good out there. You are a beacon of light to many who don't have what you do. Do NOT waste that. Go change the world, and if you don't believe you can, start trying. It takes a bigger man to try and fail than to never try.

Hey guys here is short about a detail or two that I do to get better grades. I'm enjoying remaking podcasts even though some of them are never published. To my two viewers, I love you. Now you get the opportunity (maybe) to get to know me a little more intrinsically. Grades are important, it shows discipline. Please leave any comments or questions in the box, I would love to hear a lot from you. Even if it is an hour long text, I would love to read it. The episode was way longer than I expected it to be.
Here is a ten-minute snippet about maturity, growth, and opinions. One of the things that has been on my mind a lot recently is hope. I am becoming more and more disillusioned with the adult generation because many of them don't have it together. Growing up our parents are our primary role model, but they are flawed. Not to externalize anxiety or fear for you guys, but that is the way it is. I do find hope. Originally I viewed the future world as dismal because as I grew accustomed to the way people acted more and more, I saw them as unsuccessful. Unsuccessful as in not perfect. Nobody is perfect and perfection is the color of the incomplete. We all try to grow and adapt, but some ways are better than others. Maybe there is or isn't an absolute way, and maybe we're all just trying different flavors of wrong. Pursuit of self actualization drives us to be amazing people. I now understand that there is a reason not every person has their marbles in place. Not everything is black and white. I still cling onto hope because I know there are other people out there that are doing the things that I do. If you can attend Boys State Legion of Kansas, go. Don't even consider it a question, you will be going. I have never had such an opportunity to see such high functioning teens and lazy geniuses. Basically you spend a week at K-State and play a simulation government with 200 other boys who are all specially chosen by their school because of their talent. The dynamic of many other successful, driven, hardworking, and intelligent boys creates a synergy that I can't put into words. I've never seen a team so bonded so easily and quick. The people there are cream of the crop. Throughout the week you can speak in front of hundreds and develop way too many skills. The biggest takeaway was method. There are hundreds of methods to lead and grow. I saw so many diverse styles of leadership that I have already implemented into my life. I use these skills in clubs, sports, academics, and everything in between. I am glad to be maturing. I am glad to be growing. I have hope because there are thousands out there that use their skills so well and are already turning out amazing results. Be one of them. Go change the world. Everyone can do it. -Dom
